I'm runnin a set of Big O's MT(265x75x16) on the Toyota...not the best tire out there, but for free ninety free....i'm not gonna complain...

and on my 2nd set of BFG AT's(33x12.5x15)...on my dodge. I love 'em. I'm not a hard core off-roader, but they've never failed me

good luck, lots of good choices out there... :headbang:

Ive run allot of differnt tires and the ones I have right now seam to be my favorites. Goodyear mtr's 35-12.50r15. quiet, wear well, look good, and handle better on the road then the Radial tsl's I had. The truck is a dayly driver and weakend warrior so it sees alot of 4X4'n and these seam to be a good tight alaround tire.

Bronco91shee,

If you don't mind staying with a 33" tire you may want to look at the (I know here come the jokes) FIRESTONE DESTINATIONS. I have them on my 91 Eddie Bauer Bronco and love them. I say 33" cause I think that is as large as they go. That might have changed since I got mine August of 03'. They have a fairly decent tread pattern about like the old BFG M/T. I have about 10,000 miles on them already and they bairly show signs of wear. I don't know about sand cause I don't like taking my Bronco into the sand its to much of a pig, and OH YEAH not near as much fun as my SHEE!!! I have had them in lots of muck in the mountains including snow/mud and they seemed to do great. Not to mention that you can get a set of them @33x12.50x15 delivered to your front door from tire rack for $600.00 I thought that was pretty good.

This is their customer survey rating vs. bfg m/t

BFG FIRESTONES

HANDLING RATING 7.60 9.00

DRY TRACTION 8.6 9.4

WET TRACTION 7.6 8.7

SNOW TRACTION 8.2 9

RIDE COMFORT 7.6 8.7

NOISE COMFORT 6.8 7.8

WEAR 7.8 8.6

Not saying anything bad about the BFG's but just another option for you to look at.

I have ran 36" radial TSL swampers... I liked them. good mileage, good ride. I have also ran a set of 37" SSR radials. I LOVED them. If they made them in a 44" size, I would be running them or Swamper SX's. If it was my truck, I would put SX's on it. If you don't want SX's, I would go with the SSR's for sure...

The SX's ride the worst. Which I must say, isn't bad. I drive two vehicles with SX swampers on them. 80+ MPH, not a problem. Keep in mind they are only "H" rated tires. WHich are only rated to 80 MPH. banghead I like them. Traction in the mud, and off road is the best with the SX's. On road performance is good, but not as good as a radial. THis is a half bias, half radial tire. By far the noisiest of the three. PEople will har you coming.....

TSL radial tires ride pretty good. Slightly better than the SX's. They look retarded IMHO. I don't like the skinny treads on the tire. Traction off road is good, noticeably less than the SX. On road performance is slightly better than the SX.

The SSR radial is a wonderful tire. traction off road is between the TSl radial and the SX. Not too shabby. Ride quality is the best on this tire. On road performance is superb, with Sipes in the tread for wet road conditions. (also good for wet rocks and such...) Noise is minimal Off road performance is great. If money was no concern, I would go with this tire.

I had another thought. If you are going to be in sand alot, I would look into a TRX/US STS radial. An excellent sand tire. It won'd do dick in the mud, but sand and on road, they are EXCELLENT!!!!!!

thanks dude, i needed someone to speel it out like that for me. i have read reviews, but no one has compared the three together. my friend has the sx on his blazer w/ a 6" lift. he uses his mostly on the sand, they really impressed me. btu on the other hand, i do know i need to drive mine everyday, so i think the sx is out. i looked at the truxus, but i do play a lil in the mud w/ my friends up here at college, so i think the swampers would be the best for me. i think i will go w/ the ssr. i have saved for months, and im gunna get the best, cuz i want the best really bad. thanks again for ur help, ur the best source i have found, even over those bronco sites and whatnot.

peace out

I am in the Swamper capitol of the country it seems. EVERYONE runs swampers. I get to try alot of them. I wouldn't rule the SX's out just yet. if you don't mind the noise, you can't beat the SX. But, you may get a little better road performance out of the SSR.
