- If spark momentarily fails early in the run, unburned nitro builds up in the affected cylinders and then explodes with sufficient force to blow the cylinder heads off the block in pieces or split the block in half.

Ive seen that in person at the Winston Nationals. Fucken brutal........

Its amazing to see these in person if you've only seen them on TV like I had. After they do their burn outs, there is rubber dust floating down out of the air, sometimes even after the run is complete....you got this black rubber shit all over everything.

The pits are cool too.

Just dont be standing down wind when they kick that nitro in.....It'll send you running and crying.

They are amazing to watch, so much power. I like watching the funny cars, they're crazy. Like rockets on their sides. You get a big long rocket, of course it'll go straight, but get a short fat one and its gonna go all over.....thats kind of how the funny cars are.....and they still keep those suckers straight.

I've been to the U.S. Nationals in Indianapolis, IN and it was pretty cool. The power they are making is mind blowing. I thought it was pretty cool standing in the pits when they are seating the clutch. It's often refered to as a "Nitro Shower." :whoa: It deafinitly makes your eyes water.
