BansheeBrian
Saw something interesting on OLN. Stihl came out with a 4 stroke engine for a weedtrimmer that runs on two cycle premix.Thats a strong lil'bastard of an engine! It's light too. I wonder what it would do for the ATV world?Treehuggers would love to know this. Anyone have further info on this?
trail rider
I thought all 4 stroke motors could run pre mix fuel ? Wouldn't it just put out blue smoke all the time
erbilabuc
i dont understand what your saying? A 2 stroke isnt a "2 stroke" because of the gas it uses and same for a 4 stroke. Why would you put premixed gas into a 4 stroke engine? It would be like adding water to your gas tank of your car

BansheeBrian
It has something to do with the design of the engine to make it a more efficient HP producer.Sure any bonehead can add premix to a standard 4-stroke but there is something different about this engine.I'll see if i can get details.Just thought I'd share. frocashmoney24
shit, i never though they'd come out with a 4 stroke weedwacker or chainsaw
blk02banshee
It probably needs the premix to lube the bottom end, because if they had a wet sump crankcase, it would make it a heavier engine.

locogato11283
i run klotz in my 2 stroke stihl weedeaters. that way when im out mowing its like im really riding. you wouldnt believe how much faster i go when i can smell that klotz. it also makes it run better than stihl oil. Cotton eyed Joe
I'm thinking of porting my weedeater this year.....dunno...because if I screw it up there's at least $80 for an engine...... Anyone done this?
fixitrod
I always wondered about porting a scooter.
Cotton eyed Joe
I always wondered about porting a scooter. I think they use a weed eater engine......That be cool if you could smoke the tire although I don't think the drive mechanism (hockey puck rubbing on the rear tire) would allow you too...... bronco91shee
thats a sad day when we have 4 choke weed eaters now. i was wonderin how long it would take. they r killin us 2 strokes off slow, just like they did w/ the 3 wheelers. hence why 4 choke quads r gettin so much tech being put into them, then they can finally keep up with us(with 2x's the cc ). i would be intrested in more info on that engine. peace out
