BenBB
The stock stator will only push about 35W for each headlight, so no it won't handle a pair of 55W lights. I don't think it'll damage anything but you'll get more light out of holding up a Zippo. I don't know the story on HID lights, although from what I've heard they throw some mean light at the cost of using lotsa watts; they may not work at all without a battery. got1banshee
That is a good question but I dont know the answer either. I do know that Wal-Mart has a set of really nice chrome ones that are 35w that I was going to buy. They were around 20 bucks if I remember right. Good luck and let us know what you find out!!!! Yamahammer
I am lookng into H.I.D. lights also and you are not going to get a pair under 400 those are not real hids but halogens.. they would work but not be very bright at idle.. H.I.D. lights have a less amp draw than a conventional light and put out way more light that is what are on the bmw and benz yes you need to run a battery or a capacitor and a rectofier. I will let you know what i come up with i am expecting a call back today on a conversion..
bronco91shee
call ricky stator. i did, and they told me it wont handle more than a pair of 35's. i just bought regular car fog lights, that look like the expensive ones. now i got a bigger stator, so im just gunna swap out the bilubs for bigger ones. but for sure stay w/ 35's on a stock stator. idk what will happen, i was just told not to go any bigger, hope that helps. peace out
Yamahammer
I just got the ricky stator 200w and fly wheel... most of the hid systems only draw the same as a 35 watt and would not require a stator up grade just a battery/ or a capacitor and rectofier...
