Is It Possable To Just Puit In New Sleeves?

Recommended Posts

i was reading on the vitos web site and i came across a cylinder sleeve. its says SLEEVE-THICK WALLED FOR 370CC TO 420CC WITH STOCK PORTING fits 1987 - 2004 89.95

is this for stock pistons or for the +.03 or what ever? i think when the time comes i would like to resleeve it if possable instead of boring it out. paying for new pistons the bore and the hone i think would probably cost just as much if not more. hasent been much discussion on this topic it seems and id like to know

when you get a sleeve you don't just drop it in... you have to pay to get it bored out then they put in the new sleeve... and i still don't just drop in... so you would be paying for boring no matter what... resleeving is not cheap and no need to do it unless you crack a cyl... then resleeve and make it a big bore if you want...

I had to have one of mine done and its about 150 bucks for labor. What they do is bore out the old one then they have to put the cylender in an oven and bake it to get it really hot so it will expand. Then they press the new sleave in and let it cool then grind out all the ports and WHAALAAAAAA you have a new cylender.
