Mid Sputter, Someone Help Please

Recommended Posts

If I were you I'd try jumping up the pilot one notch and/or bump the needle clip up to either the middle or second from the blunt end...but don't do both at the same time!! I'm running a similar setup with the exception of the K&N pods and run a 30 pilot with the needle second from the blunt end. When did you notice the sputter? Have you been running this setup for long or is it something you recently have done?

Stock, T5's, K&N pods, V-force, running 310's, stock pilot, out 1 on screw, needle second from bottom. Getting a mid sputter real bad, can someone help me out a bit and tell me which direction I need to go, appreciate it.

try some 27.5 pilot and then play with your needle. you might try going up one on the needle, leaner 3rd from the top/blunt end and see if that helps.

Mine had a bad mid range sputter and I tried 25,27.5, 30, 32.5 pilots and could not get rid of the sputter until I lowered the needle to the second from the top , mine likes the 25 pilot with 1 turn out on the air screws or 27.5 pilots with 2.5 turns out.

Just lower the needle one clip and try it.

Agreed, just lower the needle and go from there..the pilot won't control mid-throttle range. A rich needle will make a shee run extremely shitty and not want to even kick into powerband......Try the 3 clip, if that doesn't cure it all, then go to the 2nd clip from the top....
