xt45
When riding the banshee, what if you do not use the clutch, what will happen.
blk02banshee
if everything is timed right...nothing. I just think it's harder on the transmission, so I use mine.
frocashmoney24
yea i think its a tad harder on ur tranny, i know lots of people who only use the clutch in the first 2 gears
Wassup350
It's better to at least just feather it. It's hard for me to shift with out using the clutch. might just be an adjusment problem though
sheerider4life
is that why my tranny keeps breaking? I use the clutch at every gear goin up and down....and i have broke 2 3rd/4th pinion gears....whats the prob with it?
banshee04le
I don't know why you keep breaking that pinion sheerider4life, but I say use the clutch every gear. In a drag, if you practice and get fast enough with the clutch, I think it could help your times as opposed to shifting without the clutch. When you clutch, you pick up rpms and then dump those extra r's and torque to the rear wheel. When used properly, I don't think it is a detrement. Practice and you will get better but don't practice bad habits, like shifting without the clutch.
banshee04le
Oh, and to all of you guys that shift without the clutch remind me to never let you ride my bike .
skykingcory
There's a lever up there for a reason!
sheerider4life
I use the clutch all the time, i keep oil in it, i dunno why tho, and yes i do let off the gas when i pullin the clutch and i never dump the cluth..something is doin it
banshee04le
Yeah, I don't know. There's nothing wrong with reving and dumping the clutch. If you are absolutely sure that everything is properly assembled and it still breaks, I think I would look at finding a different set of cases. sheerider4life
Thats what i might have to do...
MotulMonsta
Well, when I'm gunnin it hard in a straight line, I don't use the clutch to shift, just let of the gas a bit and slam it up another gear..it's a faster way to shift..but it is a bit harder on the tranny especially when you miss a gear. I have yet to grenade my tranny gears themselves but they are worn. I blew a clutch basket up though. If I'm turnin and burnin I'm all over that clutch keeping the motor making it's power but one i'm going straight again just dump the clutch and pin the throttle. Kg8
I have heard that shifting without the clutch on 2 strokes is hard on the transmision unlike a 4 stroke wear the flywheel can take it.
sheerider4life
I have heard that shifting without the clutch on 2 strokes is hard on the transmision unlike a 4 stroke wear the flywheel can take it. prolly because 2-strokes have so much damn power at the rear wheels, and the 4-strokes have damn nuttin...lol
tithead
i only use the clutch going down gears, i dont really feel i should use them going up. its quicker to!
