boonman
Which lake? Ontario or Erie? Either way, I'm around all the time... I work in Akron, if you're out that way, (like Lockport area or something) I'll bring y bike to work and we'll go for a scoot out that way. Or, let me know, and I'll just come out your way. I can help you get things straightened out with it. Trust me on that.... I know that shees have a way of making you but they can be made to run. if ALL you do is race MX, get the R if it makes you happy. You're the one riding it. But, if you want to race a little here and there, and play ride, the banshee is the wiser choice....
willow2679
Good luck with it If you can keep that nice shee is really bad ass looking learn more from it like you di with the trxr and use it for open spaces and have that r for the tricky stuff BTW you dont have to replace a crankshaft for a foulty bearing even if it is a rebuildable wiseco crank

shellbyzfan33
BTW you dont have to replace a crankshaft for a foulty bearing even if it is a rebuildable wiseco crank . what do u mean???? it's the inner bearing and the crank is welded. i'm guesing that it would not be cheap to fix!!!! boonman
It's not that expensive to fix. You could rebuild it yourself, and then send it out to be trued and welded again. About 5 minutes with a die grinder and whala, no more weld.....
willow2679
Maybe you can sell the older repairable crank on ebay
BansheeJen
Well I just went through some electrical problems myself. But it would seem that being mechanically inclined you would have checked for spark. Then if you werent getting any you would start testing and by process of elimination you would have found the problem. Mine was just a wire had been pulled loose from the plug that goes to the CDI. Simple fix once we tracked it down. You could always run the cool head but buy some different domes to lower the compression a bit if you wanted. .
on your guys s-10's are you running vacuum canisters? It helps out with building up braking power dramatically. Drivers side fenderwell with the VP sticker on it: And on the shee vs. R thing its like comparing apples and oranges. You can build a shee to compete with an R on the track, but the nod will always go to the R because of the way the banshee geometry is set up more for an open area type setup. Likewise if you build an R to compete with the shee in the dunes, it can come close, but never be what a shee can be because of its smaller length, frame setup, and that it will always be a 1 cylinder engine. shellbyzfan33
yes i JUST got a vacumm canister and a 3" folwmaster exhaust set up, but i still have to fabricate the header to go around the steering shaft. i also tore everything down and i'm putting in a milder cam which will also give me a little more vacumm and then hopfully i'm not stopping at the gas station every 10 miles!!!! well after i get the new cam in i'll take some better pics after i clean her up !!!! boonman
My old cam was a 442/465 @ .050" with a 214/224 duration. WOrked great, and got good mileage and power. But that was more of a pussy cam... My new cam is a 234/244 @ .050" and .488"/.510" lift. It should be a rockin little street motor with the 10.5:1 pistons....... Although it is my daily driver.... Should be in the vehicle next weekend. I'll prolly drive it to coalfest.....
