New Carbs

Recommended Posts

I would like to upgrade my carbs but there are so many to choose from.  Any suggestions on the best brand and size.  Gonna rebuild, 20 over, MX port (if i can find someone that doesnt have a 2 month wait) and add a cool head.  ANy info will help

Well, both Keihen and Mikuni carbs are good, it's more preference. I'm partial to the Keihen PWKs, even better, the PWK Airstryker, but it's like Ford or Chevy, they both do their job and well.

As far as size, I wouldn't be going over 30mm unless your going to be mainly duning or dragging. With the setup you have and will have with the mx port and all 28s would be alright. 30s will carry you far.

Then there's the single carb setup. Aaaah. Why anyone would run duals is beyond me. The simplicity, the ease, only problem with dual carbs is I don't have to f*&k with them very often so there's less to do. Honestly, good low, awesome mid and good top end, especially when comparing the top end to the stockers. It's also a very very good mx setup and much easier to dial in when going to different tracks. I'm personally a committed single carb guy, no other way for me.

Don't know what kind of susp. you have, but if it were me, I'd hold off a little longer on the carbs and work on the suspension, but that's me.
