canadabanshee Posted April 15, 2004 Report Posted April 15, 2004 My banshee will not start it is not getting the right amount of gas i think. But if I put a small amount into the cylnders then put the spark plugs on it starts. And runs great. I just put on pro curicuit pipes and 220 jets. I put a few holes in the air lid. What esle should i do guys. And new spark plugs. When the engine is warm she starts up great. Quote
Banchetta Posted April 15, 2004 Report Posted April 15, 2004 Two things. Pc pipes like a richer pilot, at least for mine it did...Try a 30 pilot, that'll make a big difference. Also, make sure you didn't switch the carb bowls...ONly one carb bowl is for the choke carb.....Next, check your compression. Low compression will make a bike start hard when cold....Better to catch it now, before parts go flying... Quote
canadabanshee Posted April 15, 2004 Author Report Posted April 15, 2004 thanks man. Ohh its a new banshee. Just got it and the pipes were the first thing to go on. Quote
cheezehead Posted April 15, 2004 Report Posted April 15, 2004 I think that the Canadaian banshees have a 25 pilot in them factory I know mine did. I think a 30 would be a little big Quote
Banchetta Posted April 15, 2004 Report Posted April 15, 2004 ALL stock shees have a 25 pilot in them...Pc pipes have terrible idle and low end w/ stock 25's, they need way more fuel then other pipes on the pilot circuit.. Quote
jrm312 Posted April 15, 2004 Report Posted April 15, 2004 first off your way to lean you should be running 270 or280 mains, well this all depends on your elevation also id go up on your mains your not getting enough gas Quote

The newer ones have brass tubes on both, but only one bowl has a little jet in the bottom of the bowl for the choke....Idles good and starts good, but falls off after.....Its one of two things...ONe, your tors is kicking in. Disconnect the little black box above the left exhaust, disconnect the parking brake switch, If problem still persist, then lower your needles one notch....Raise the clip towards the blunt end to lower the needles.....
