Its an engine that my dad painted and did final prepwork to the block like 5 to 7 years ago. The guy bought everything to put it together, only thing it needs is rings, a pan, intake and valve covers. The guy just never put it together and he had a 454 race block that my dad wanted and would only sell together. It's going in this: There's a mild 350 in there right now, tci streetfighter th350 trans, and 12 bolt 4:10 eaton posi rear thats good up to 800 horse. I just rebuilt the rear and have over a grand into that, but I'm either gonna ditch it for a shortened 9 bolt or have it shortened for when I get a ladder bar tub setup kit. It's getting a frame off rebuild before the 406 gets dropped in, just gotta find a garage to be able to do it in for a year or so. Can you say sunoco 118 and an extra 100 shot of nitrous Edited April 13, 2004 by .

joehead24
what does it run in the quarter?
.
probably wont see a dyno for a couple years, but its a proven engine. Not just a these things look good together engine. 525hp 485 ft/lbs of torque. I just hope it doesnt rain all this spring, summer, fall, so I can get a lot of time into her. She's so close to being street legal its driving me nuts. The idiot who owned it before me beat the firewall back so he could take the distributor in and out, and I gotta pull it back some so the windshield wipers fully work. I also have to get the right turn signals to work, they light up, but just dont flash. Tighten up a few bolts and its roadworthy. The dualie flares in the back are all gonna be smoothed into the bed when the tubwork gets done, and I'm contemplating getting a whole fiberglass removable/flip up front end. That'll probably be the route I'll go. It'll be sick when I'm done with it though, trust me. As it sits, the guy before me had a 327 in it with nitrous pushing 600 hp and it ran a 10.22 in the quarter. I'll have the same hp about and hope to lighten it up quite a bit. frocashmoney24
nice muscle! bet she might even get the front end off the ground, you gonna repaint that thing, im sure its gonna be a shit load of fun
.
yeah, I'm gonna paint her eventually, but thats the LAST thing I'm gonna do. Not to worried about looks yet, its getting a whole new front end race setup, blocked in frame, rear ladder bar tub weld in setup, painless wiring, roll cage, flip up front end, different tranny, real good fuel delivery setup, interior is gonna be fitted, and the whole body will be prepped and smoothed for paint. Will pull the body, paint the frame a darker red or black, and then paint the body and mount everything back together like it was new. Gonna go with a dark dark buried in tons of clearcoat black cherry for the body that will be black until the sun hits it, and even then you'll just get a glimmer of the cherry. Lots and lots of time and money will go into it, like 2500 or so for the rear end setup not including the gears themselves. I'll never get what I put into it out of it, if I ever do decide to sell it. It's my main project until my dad gets to old to drive his 69 nova. I cant wait to strap into that thing and be able to drive it like I own it.
