KRMit Posted April 13, 2004 Report Posted April 13, 2004 I had heard someone mention this in an earlier post and want to know if it works. Can you check your pilot jetting by warming the bike up, putting in new plugs, letting it idle for 10 minutes, then checking the plug color? 10 minutes seems a bit long to idle, but what do you guys think? Banchetta Posted April 13, 2004 Report Posted April 13, 2004 Some people think so, but I don't. Adjust pilots to the throttle response of the shee....Trial and error. Its a bitch, but worth it....Nice try... Quote
banshdog Posted April 13, 2004 Report Posted April 13, 2004 I read that in the FAQ's, but peeps on this site have told me otherwise. Quote
Yaxy Posted April 13, 2004 Report Posted April 13, 2004 Put the smallest size pilot jet that allows you the best throttle response. If to rich you may follow plugs and it will smoke like hell, too lean and you will have crappy throttle response and it probably won't idle correctly. Chris Quote
99LRDblaster Posted April 14, 2004 Report Posted April 14, 2004 idleing wont show anything with the pilots. pilots take effect at 1/8-1/4 throttle right off the line. the air screw affects the idling. Quote
KRMit Posted April 14, 2004 Author Report Posted April 14, 2004 So there really isn't a good way to do it? ouch, this is going to be fun... Getting that Trinity kit in about a week. Quote
