900rr Coil Install Issues?

Recommended Posts

This is a weird problem that hopefully someone can help me with. Got these Dyna coils for my 900RR offa ebay a long time ago and it just came with the two coils. I got hardware for mounting them and such but am confused when it comes to the plug wires There's a pic of one below. anyway, I have NO idea how plug wires hook into these! You can see the two holes for the plug wires but it isn't readily apparent to me how the wires hook in and 1) make a good connection, and 2) stay in!

Sorry for the monster pics... figured it'd be more useful than small pics though :)

Just need to know how the plug wires hook in... what adapters/etc hook it to these coils.

Plug wires just press in. There is a metal piece that you crimp on the end of the plug wire, that once inserted into the coil, grabs the side of the metal cup on the coil. If your current wires don't have this, you will either need to buy new wires, or just buy a plug wire crimper, and make your old wires fit.

Sweet. Thats what I was hoping for. The Accel wires I have (8.8's) and planned to go on had small crimp-on connectors. They were pretty straight and have protrusions on the outsides so I can see how they will probably fit in there fine. Just didn't know if there was anything special other than that... always just have seen the screw-in type or the ones like on my S10 pickup.. but never those. Thanks for the info!!
