zR2
i was goofin around on my shee the other day doin doughnuts and comin out of them in a wheelie and the one time i got goin a little too fast and when i pulled back to pick it up it came up on the right rear wheel only i came off the seat but held on to her as it came up on one wheel i heard a BANG (i think it may have been the nerf bar smackin off the ground i jumped back on the seat on my knee and got her set down and grabbed the front brakes to stop then when i started to go again i had hardly any front brake. i tried bleedin them, still nothin, i tried cleanin the caliper slides still nothin. im racin this weekend and i would kinda like to have front brakes any ideas would be greatly appreciated. thanx
QuadMX
I really wouldn't know what the problem is, but I was just gonna comment on the situation. You don't exactly need front brakes in racing (depending on the type of racing). Id rather have rear and no fronts, than fronts with no rear. Anyways, maybe a hose popped or somethin. Are there any leaks anywhere? Try checking where they split. When you were bleeding them, you pull in the lever, did fluid leak out the bleeders? Just some thoughts. Don't quote me on anything. frocashmoney24
never heard of that h appenin before, but is ur fluid low? when u pump ur front lever do you go from soft to harder? maybe u need a master brake rebuild
ledofthezep
You don't exactly need front brakes in racing (depending on the type of racing). I dunno about that, well depending on your style I guess that'd be about right. I'd definately want my fronts if I was racing MX. I figure, they're there,...use them, in conjunction with the back. Could you imagine racing MX on a bike without front brakes!

QuadMX
Could you imagine racing MX on a bike without front brakes! Actually...Last year I raced my first MX race with ONLY front brakes...That was pretty tough.
zR2
your right about the racing i am running mx and i practiced sat. with no fronts and it wasnt fun. the first thing i checked for was leaks and didnt find any then i filled the res. up as high as i could before i bled them. no air and closed it back up dried everything off and still nothin they dont get any better if i pump it either. i would hope i dont need a new master the quad is a 2003 i love my front brakes i'de rather have fronts than backs. if anybody has a front master for sale let me know
H300F
the front brakes on these are so screwy. before i go riding every time i have to bleed them. you didnt even flip it over? maybe as it was going up you grabbed the front brakes out of frantic and blew the seals in the calipers?? thats my only guese. Stuff
Have you checked the rubber lines? My roommate just about replaced his entire braking system on his Castang (Mercury Capri <=> Ford Mustang) only to find out one rubber line was buldging. I would guess the problem is most likely in a seal either in a caliper or the master cylinder judging how this problem occurred.
thecabinboy
if you need parts I just replace mine with S.S. lines up front.
Ducman
Well this probably wont help much, but a pretty small amount of air in the brake lines can keep you from making any presure on one squeese of the lever. Usually you can pump it a few times and get enough pressure to get some break pressure though. I'd say that if you can pump it a few times and get no pressure then you either have a hell of a lot of air in the line or your master cylinder isn't working at all, but if you can bleed the breaks then the master should be working cause its pumping the fluid that is being bled right? This may be a stupid question, but you know how to only open the valve while you are in the pumping stroke of the brake lever or it will suck air back into the line right? No offence, just checkin. jeffro189
sounds like he has a blown out seal in the master cyclinder, and the fluid is leaking right past it. when the bleeder screw is opened it isnt creating enough pressure ti bleed past the seals, so the fluid is going to flow out of the bleeder. like h300f said you probaly grabbed the lever in panic and ruined the seals. i dont think it would be a caliper seal, because you would see a leak down at the caliper. either that or you aren't bleeding the brakes properly. but air doesnt just get into the lines with out a leak. just my 2 cents
