I noticed that there is about 1/16 inch of carbon bulit up on the inside of my pipes. I didnt know if that was a bad thing or not.....if it is bad how do i fix it???...shee used to run really rich until i rejetted it...its jetted perfect now...I just thought that i might be losen some power!! 99LRDblaster Posted April 12, 2004 Report Posted April 12, 2004 its typical however running different oils can reduce/increase the carbon deposits. i myself am polishing nowusheeitnowudonts exhaust ports so there is less/none carbon buildup on the ports. as for the exhaust i doubt its losing any power from it unless its right where the port meets the pipe. Banchetta Posted April 13, 2004 Report Posted April 13, 2004 Run a tank of 114 octane, that'll clean out a lot of carbon throughout the motor...It cleaned my silencer on my streetbike!! Quote
banshee_rider95 Posted April 13, 2004 Author Report Posted April 13, 2004 where is the best place to get that high of octane?? Quote
sheechandchong Posted April 13, 2004 Report Posted April 13, 2004 I get mine from the honda dealership(VP_110),When I had my pipes rechromed,I had them hot tanked to remove the carbon.I don't know if you would that to the stingers though. Quote
Banchetta Posted April 13, 2004 Report Posted April 13, 2004 Ask around, someone will know...Do you have any dragstrips around your area? Small airports will sell it....Anyplace where racing is involved will have it.... Quote
