Help With Gearing

hi all and can any one help me with the gearing and wheels and tires changes

 

i have 2003 banshee with fmf sst pipe with 2 into 1 air filter toomey and miled head and stock tires and rims with 15 front and 41 in the rear spracket and my banshee runs great in it . and my rear tires wear out and its time to change them with the other set i have and it is 10" itp rims t-9 pro with turf tamer 20x11x10 so do i have to change the gearing back to stock in the front 14 or what do you think i dont want to but to much load on the gears with the biger rims and i ride on the streets some times and drag racing some friends on flat tracks sand and long runs some times in the diserts and what i need is the same calc. of the old set up of my gearing with the new rims i have . :unsure:

the rim size has nothin to do w/ gearing. Just the outside diameter of the tire...The stock tires are either 20 or 21's and your going to a 20" flat tire which is smaller since its flat. The stock tires will also get skinny and taller w/ higher speeds. You will lose top end w/ flat tires w/ almost = gearing at lower speeds because of this ballooning affect of the stock tires...I'd gear it up some more if you like the 15/41 w/ stock tires....You may want to go w/ a 16/42 or 15/39. They are about the same gear ratio, it just depends on ground clearence or if you want the larger front sprocket.....
