I have tried and tried and even taken them to a couple of shops to see if they can adjust them correctly. I couldnt agree with you more! H300F
i was hoping something was wrong, now that you responded, nope, im out 200 bucks and have a stroker motor running stock carbs forever. i am emailing him. did you get your money back or try???? i had these like 4 or 5 months and had them on about 3months. every time i rode it, it poured gas out like a mofo, it was useless to ride. it was either the gas lines leaking where they connected to the carbs, or the carbs overflowing. either or. last time out it was overflowing so i shut it down and took the bowl off, put back together and now it wont stop running straight wide open!!!!!!! i had to get it pulled out of the woods. i freaked with these things probably 10 times now with no change at all. give me a freakin break!!!!!!!!!! H300F
only 1 way to put slides in - D slides believe me its not on my part! the only thing i have heard is the routing of the gas lines but how in the f*** can that make a difference, i didnt try that but maybe ill spend 2mins trying that since i put about 40hrs into everything else on these lil fuc*'s. 350duner
Did you adjust the floats correctly and check the needle valve (not the needle in the slide, the one that shuts off fuel flow when the floats reach the set height)? I had a carb on my R that poured gas. The floats were adjusted wrong and the needle seat and valve were messed up. You might try calling carbparts.com to find out correct float height, it's probably different from stock banshee carb specs in the manual. H300F
the float height is the same as the other carb that is not overflowing. if i get time or feel like it ill check it once again and try swapping the needles from one to the other. these carbs are brand new!!! i should be able to bolt on and go!!! save yourself and please dont buy these carbs. eehsnab2
I did the same thing. My motor was being built when I bought these so I didnt know until last weekend that there was a problem either. I dont have the wide open problem though. The cast was so rough on these things that I ended up polishing the slides and the insides of the carbs. Mine may not stick open because I polished them. I just emailed him after I saw that you were having a problem too. Hopefully he will do something about them. Let me know what happens if you hear anything and I will do the same. H300F
i know the slides arent up, i look through the airbox and they are down. i must have an airleak but where, i went over all the boots and everything many many times. i emailed him long ago that the quality of these carbs was shit and that i couldnt stop it overflowing. today i emailed him if there was any fix, then 5mins later i rethought and emailed him that i want my money back. i wish i had the link to the ebay transaction and stuff,,,,,
pimp559
I've heard that is a common problem with those carbs. The local shop told me that you can't get the right pilot set up for them. One pilot is too big and the step under is too small. They said you need a cutom pilot drilled for them. This is just what they said, don't quote me in this. It sounds right though cause if your pilot is too big you'll be gettin to much fuel in the bowl. My guess is it doesn't over flow while your riding it cause you are drawing from the bowl more than at idle. You could get that pcs overflow kit and redirect the excess fuel. Just my 2cents worth. nater006
All of the keihin carbs I've hed (Tecate with one, 2 CR500s, 250R with one..) have had bad needle valves either upon purchase of the quad/bike or after a short time. After adjusting the float height and finding out it was the needle valve, replacing those did the trick. The ones in my shee leak after a bit (Mikuni) and I can see the needle slightly notched (worn), but for now I'm just shutting the fuel off. Check your float height, and check the needle valve. broke
I have these same carbs bought from the same person. Mine run great, so you may want to keep playing with them before you really give up. I had some issues getting mine to idle low, but in the end it just took VERY small adjustments of the idle screws. If I can just get the main dialed in right, they will be perfect. I can try to answer any questions if you want. Good luck. broke
blueshee03
i purchased a new set of 33 pwk's not from ebay but i had the same problem.turned out one of them was defected from the manufacturer.
H300F
Well the problem with it screaming wide open isnt with the idle screws. heres why, it ran with those carbs for months, just the one was always overflowing. then one day after i took the bowl off and put it back on, every time i started it up it would immediately red line. well i took the them off and went over everything and cleaned them and put them back on and they improved only slightly with the wide open issue, still overflowing fuel though and i cant run it like this, its pouring more gas out then its burning. so i put the stock carbs back on, all problems solved.
