Stolen Blaster In Tx.

Recommended Posts

Well, some of you may or may not know but my kinda trick blaster was stolen almost a year ago now.

Anyway, the cops called about 20 minuts ago tellin me they found it in..I think they said kermit tx Im not positive, but I know that kermit is pretty far away from me..

I don't know what kinda cond. its in but I would like to try and purchase it back at an insurence auction, since insurence coverd it I can't get it back.

My understanding is that you can get bikes cheap at an insurence aution....

Does any 1 know how I would beable to find out where it would be auctioned and how i could go about finding out?

Just thoght I would let every 1 know.

Wow, I realy appreciate that tats, from what the sgt. told me its in good cond. other then it just sitting out in the elements, and the left rear tire/rim are missing, he said it may be at a tire shop or sumthin and that he would check, from what i understandhe said we could buy it back but I dunno the details, hes calling back in a few days...

I realy want to find out who it is, I dunno if the same person was responsible, but I have had 2 other friends blasters get stolen, a yz 85, a worrior, a raptor, a 440 ex, and a few other bikes, all in the same area....

Ima press charges on those fuckers, I hate theives, I worked my ass off for my bike and the 3 grand I had into it, I worked 10 hr days in a hot as hell sign shop during the summers since I was 14 for all my stuff, and had been saving all my money from christmass and B-days before that...

Im a licensed dealer, and Im going to Texas probably next week???

Chances are probably slim to none that the time frame would be right for me to be there at the auction at the right time, but I'll do what I can to halp ya out.

Its probably in a tow yard or something now. You need to stay on the Ins company for information on it. If they gave you money for it, Im pretty sure they own it. They should know where its at.

Hopefully not some scandelous repo/tow company that put the wheel back on and is using it to chase the dog around the junk yard

Or even worse parting it out.

This happened to me. The insurance company paid for my other shee when it was stolen. A year later, same thing cops found it. It sat in imopud for 6 weeks. Rusted to hell. Insurance guuy made me a deal for $400 on the buy back. Contact them. They would rather settle then send a guya nd a truck to go get it. Especially if its a far drive. On a good note, my banshee started in 5 kicks when i got it home. Love that thing - JT

  • 5 weeks later...
That's good to hear Trick2Stroke.  If it is in Kermit and you actually go over there, take the Banshee and paddles if you got 'em, the Kermit dunes (like 5 miles NE of Kermit on Hwy 115 towards Andrews) are a blast.

how big is the kermit dunes? And where might that be any hows? I am 25 minutes ne of Dallas. Kermit sounds far..

Kermit dunes are roughly 5 miles by 7 miles, so approx 35 square miles of sand. It's a pretty large area for this part of the country, from what I hear it's a larger area than Little Sahara, OK but the hills aren't as big. I would think LS would be closer for you but Kermit would still be worth checking out I think; it's a 3 hour drive for me but would be closer to 6 hours for you I think.

The dunes are about 5 miles Northeast of Kermit on highway 115, going towards Andrews, TX. Roughly between Midland/Odessa and El Paso. There's no regulations or fees there (helmet and flag would be wise), there is a small paved parking area (mebbe 2 acres) and 4 covered picnic tables. No water or porta-potties. Big weekends can get crowded but there's so much room to ride once you get away from the parking area you rarely see others. Two highways border the dunes, and a trail runs around the other two sides so if you get lost you can always pick a direction and eventually hit the perimeter trail.

If you head that way let me know, I'm due for a trip, might be able to make it...
