2004LEBanshee
it is only $80 bucks. The gauge itself is only 2" and I like it mounted herehttp://www.jtatv.com/images/Yamaha%20Banshee.jpg It starts at 100 but operating temp is Around 180 for mine and runs 20-210 in the woods. But that all depends on your setup. I just can't see putting thousands into an atv and cutting corners on a gauge that could save a engine or help let you know when to stop to cool off You would pay 100 plus for a helmet, A gauge is saftey equipment for your shee I have that exact guage in that exact position and it looks great, and works great. I would deffinetly buy again. Installation was easy as hell too.
Gargamel
Try This I bought a 1.5 in mech water temp gauge. I drilled a 1.5 in hole in the small flat spot between the fender and side panel. Just have to come up with a way to pipe it in. You can get a Auto meter 1.5 in gauge at NAPA. Price for the gauge was $30.00. I had to spcial order mine from NAPA. Also i sealed off the light with a rubber vaccum cap and some silicone. Don't have pics yet of install but will have soon. The only downfall of a Automotive style gauge is the probe for the gauge is like 6ft long. Hard to hide that much cable. what did you use for the tee? I was thinking the same thing to save a little. But don't know about the tee.
DIRTMAN350
I haven't come up with a way to t it into the coolant hose yet. Would like to use aluminum fittings to save some weight plus would look a lot better than brass fittings. Brass is so heavy plus once you make up a "t" out of brass it is big and bulky. If anybody has any idea's let me know. Thanks.
Dark Ranger
There is/was a member named red ore that made adapters to put in the main coolant hose that would allow you to screw a sending unit for a temp guage into it. I bought one from him (looks pretty good) but still haven't had time to install it. I bought a mechanical temp guage from Checker Auto for like $20 to hook up to it. I also bought a guage pod (around $15) from the Dennis Kirk snowmobile catalog to mount the guage in.
DIRTMAN350
Hey, Would you be interested in selling the fitting you bought from red ore? I have tryed to email him and pm him and still to no avail. Just thought you might be interested in selling the fitting since you have not installed your gauge yet. If not i understand. Thanks. Dark Ranger
Sorry, but no. I do still plan to install the whole setup one of these days. I just need to find time. I could try to get you some pictures of it if you want to see how it is made.
