New Guy With A Few Questions

Recommended Posts

I just bought a 97 banshee a few months ago on Ebay. I haven't ridden it yet because of winter. I am planning a trip to Silver Lake Dunes in Michigan towards the end of the month. I have never been, and have a few questions.

1. I bought a pro design pro flow intake plate with a uni filter online used. The filter has a hole, and i want to get a K&N instead. Which one fits? the one that fits a stock banshee? Part Number?

2. Does it matter which size rim I run on my rear with paddles? I know 8 inch rims are cheaper, so are 9s or 10s better?

3. What paddles are good?

4. It already has a DG Exhaust on it. One of the clamps between the pipe and silencer is broke open. What should I pay for these? Also, will I have to have spark arrestors to ride this thing? How do I know if I have them already? If I do need them, where to get them?

5. I bought an aluminum Lonestar Racing handlebar clamp, and it is too wide for my steering stem. Why? Are there aftermarket stems?

Thanks A LOT for any help you guys can provide.

1. just get a k&n adapter plate

2.

3.haulers, geckos , sand skates , really a prefrence sort of thing .

4.It already has a DG Exhaust on it. One of the clamps between the pipe and silencer is broke open..what clamp the exhaust clamp ?if so it depends what u will pay depending on if u get billet or regular clamps .. u dont need spark arrestors , if u have them there should be a stamp on your silencers saying something like us forestry approved or similiar.if u do need them u can go to numerous places .parts unlimited, ronnies atv, rocky mountain atv to name a few.

5. yes lonestar makes its own stem .. mostlikly the clamp is made for a lonestar stem..

If you plan on riding in Silver Lake you have to have spark arresters. to check for them first look on the silencers to see if it says any thing about them. if not, stick a thin metal rod into the exhaust. if the rod is not stopped by the time youget past the silencer, then there is no spark arrester. a spark arrester will block the rod from passing.
