banghead : buying a new crank for a blown banshee engine any suggestion on what to buy?brand,size. i want to rebuild engine reliable and fast. plan on getting cool head , trinity cv card kit, reeds. ect. cylinders i want to be close to stock bore.

where do i start. new at all of this...be nice!!.

Wiseco makes a real nice crank and you should be able to get one for about 379$ or for around 100$+ more you can get a +4mm stroker crank. Some places sell them already trued and welded and some dont but definately get it welded before you put it in.

If you build it just welded it won't take to long before

you'll wanted it stroked...

 

If and when I do another total tear down..

 

I'm going w/stroke +4.. w/mild, race/trail port...

 

since u r there go ahead and spend the extra $150 or so and stroke it!

what is the difference between the regular wiseco crank(welded),and the +4 stroker crank? also,what mods will need to be done if i go will the stroker. oh yeh- would that be long rod or short rod. sorry(just learning about banshees.)

A +4 long rod stroker ported to match has killer bottom and top end, but it also opens up another can of worms because of the porting, bigger carbs to feed it, intake manifolds, clutch, it will run you about 2g's but it is very fast whereas just dropping in a wiseco crank is about 379$.....its your call. If you decide to go with a stroker I suggest you get in touch with Jim at Passion Racing Engines to port your cylinders, he really knows his shit when it comes to that and he can also hook you up with all the parts you will need for it at competitive prices. THANKS FOR THE GREAT INGO. HERES THE THING. I THINK IM JUST GONNA STICK WITH THE REGULAR WISECO CRANK CAUSE THE POCKECT BOOK AND THE WIFE WONT LET ME GET TO CRAZY ON THE MODS. BUT ON THE OTHER HAND, WHAT SHE DONT KNOW DONT HURT HER. :flush::clap::cheers::yank:
