DerekJL Posted March 31, 2004 Report Posted March 31, 2004 Hi, I plan on getting TR-6's this summer. I was wondering since I have FMF Fatty's now if I would have to rejet the carbs when I put the new pipes on or can I leave the jet settings how they are? Are the Toomey pipes much different? Quote
sandman121383 Posted March 31, 2004 Report Posted March 31, 2004 i'm not a jetting expert but ur definitely gonna have to rejet. i'm sure someone will be able to help u pick out main and pilot jets to get u up and screamin with T-6's Quote
Big Blue Posted March 31, 2004 Report Posted March 31, 2004 I would try the jetting where it is at first if you buy them, you will probably have to rejet, i personally like the t6's better they are more of a topend pipe, fmfs are more of a mid range pipe. Quote
ranshee Posted April 1, 2004 Report Posted April 1, 2004 When you get the pipes they come with the "perfect jet kit" from toomey. Try out the bigger main they give you and you should be fine unless the bike has alot of other mods. Quote
chipdog Posted April 1, 2004 Report Posted April 1, 2004 TR6 pipes are the sh!&. all they give you is a 280 & 270 main.thats only for sea level.once you are ready to get your pipes call toomey and tell them where you live and they will give you the right set. Quote

Yes that is what I have in them now, a 280 main. Quote
ranshee Posted April 1, 2004 Report Posted April 1, 2004 They are also gonna give you a new needle so be shure to put that in. Quote
DBLtapS Posted April 2, 2004 Report Posted April 2, 2004 I've got the t-6's. Stick with what toomey says ans shee will scream! I run T-6's with the silencer, 280 mains, stock pilot(25), clip on the fourth groove from the top, 2.5 turns out, and 40:1 Klotz. T-6's are a mid to top end pipe. The low end sucks but, when you hit the power band shee will rip your arms off. My buddy has fattys. He gets me off the line and I catch him on the top. Dead race. Depends on what you want I guess. Tommeys sound way better than anything else. Quote

So I don't think it will be too hard. What I'm really looking for is a pipe that will give me better mid to top-end. What other low-priced mods can I do to help bring back the low-end? Quote
