xt45
do you know of any technique/method/item/equipment where you can have a cruise control on the shee, may be a piece of something to hold on to the thumb throttle just lightly, or moderatly, or hardly. the idea is to go at a constant speed without even touching the stearing or the thumb throttle see wa am saien

NYUK
sounds like a disaster waiting to happen.if yamaha meant for there to be c.c. on a quad it would be on there.how about an airbag?for when your cruising with your feet up and you smack dead into a tree. FadedDreams
Don't take this the wrong way.But you have been asking the dumbest questions i have ever heard. But to answer your question, its not not that good on the engine to hold it at a constant rpm for an extended period of time.so it would be pointless to have something like that. Actually, if the jetting were accurate.... in theory.... you should be able to run an engine at any rpm within it's limits for any amount of time. Hockey390
ya, I'm GUESSING he wants to do some sort of trick that he needs it to stay at the same speed, or just to keep it going, which is why he said even soemthing that holds it a little. Im sure you coudl take your thumb throttle off and attach a set of channel locks to your throttle cable, then when you get it pulled the amount you want, put another set of locks on the cable right before it goes into its sleeve... That will keep it from going back in, only problem with that is it might come out further...You could figure a way to keep that problem down though, just use really small set of locking pliers like doctors use, or the ones you can use to lock onto a fish hook when pulling it from a fish's mouth. Ducman
When my thumb gets tired and needs a rest, and I just want to cruiz around to get from point A to B, I reach over the handlebar and grab the throttle with my fingers.
Fireman-hott
Turn the idle screw up enough on your carbs. I was buzzing around without my thumb on the throttle when I put a smaler carb on, the guy left the idle screw in about 3-4 turns too many. Hockey390
we are all over looking the obvious ... think about it, there is a screw that you adjust your throttle cable with. Twist the thing out as far as you want it, and there you go... Cruise control.
