Anarchy
Heres the deal. I'm 20 years old and I have a little extra cash from the Iraqi war. My friend just bought an ATV and I want one too, always have wanted one. All my friends say "Get a Banshee, there super fast" but I've never really driven one and I dont know if I can handle it. I mean, I only weigh 140 lbs, does that make a difference? Well, let me know what you guys think, I REALLY want that black Banshee. Oh, and whats the latest model/year Banshee? Thanks in advance. SoldtheRMforaShee
If your new to the sport, and have never ridden anything like this in your life there are much much much easier ATVs to ride. 2 strokes require a bit of skill to ride well, not to mention you need to premix your gas. If i was just starting out i would look towards a 4 stroke quad, probably a 400ex or something of the sort.

Stuff
I was in your shoes about almost a year ago. Never rode much and only been on a few friends quads. I looked around and found this site.....been an excellent source of info and convinced me to buy a shee. Really you should look around and see what will fit your riding style. Good thing about the Banshee is that there are many ways to mod it to suit your needs. I bought a stock 2002 last June and rode it this summer and fall. I love it and don't worry about it being too fast cuz you will get used to it. You being 140lbs will make a difference compared to someone who is of greater mass. Who's gonna pull away quicker...you or Oprah on the same machine?? Black is nice and for 2004 they have completely black special edition....just check out Yamaha's site. "thenewguy"
just buy your self a helmet and chest protector. the doctors can alwas sew your arm back on when you messup. it does take some skill but if you like to ride atvs then go for it. if you have never ridden an atv or a two stoke before it might take you a while to learn how to. banshees are not the quad you want to learn on, thats for sure. but do what you want, worst comes to worst you can always just sell it right? SCOTT PRESSLEY
Frist you crawl then walk then you run.Take your time and get to know the beast before you ask it what it can do or it will do what it want with you.The shee is IMHO one of the best quads out there, but shee will bust that ass.Just take your time and you will be alright
Anarchy
Cool, but how will it bust my ass? I dont really like to race, mostly I want to trail ride and f*ck off in the woods and what not, and I want to stunt, but what are some common mistakes that beginners make? Oh, and I WILL learn to ride this thing, I dont care what it takes.

sweetshee4312
ya man, but a 2 stroke requires much more mantience, but if u take care of it, it well take care of u, believe me, i leanred this the hard way.... but u do get used to it, also dont jst buy ne banshee, make sure it cheaks out there are somethings to look for when u buy one, but i dont feel like listing things, and did u fight over in iraqi
sheeweet
I don't know, there is a lot involved with the shee but if you are set on getting an awesome performing quad then maybe you should go for a YFZ 450 instead. It is a four stroke but it is faster than a banshee stock for stock, so i hear anyway. Go for the new technology of the 450 and don't look back. And the YFZ450 is light weight and you being 140 lbs. you will fly on one. When you get good on it not many peeps will be able to hang with you. Check one out anyway at the yamaha dealer and I'll bet you fall in love with it. But if you get the Shee just be ready to get hooked on mods. You'll be crazy for new pipes first of all. Then suspension. Hey you can get the Quicksand A Arms and Elka shocks i was planning to get. Hey did you waste any Haji's over there? And i know of a punk ass kid i would like someone to waste. SCOTT PRESSLEY
THAT THE ATTITUDE :clap:Reply to bust your ass,you just need to learn it not as predictable as a four stroke and most other two strokes , but is a rush to ride.Sounds like you done made up your mind so just have fun with it .First Mod for it is a good helment. Peace
trail rider
my best advice would be if you have never ridden a banshee than you should go and test ride one first to see if you like it. You would really hate yourself if you just bought a brand new machine you've never ridden and f*ck it up the first day of riding.
