Like somebody else said, I too use different colored cans and mix only one 5 gal can with oil at a time. I use the 927 also and yeah, you sure cant tell. I think I might go ahead and put another dose of 40:1 in a can that I wasn't sure if I had mixed yet that way It would be either 40:1 or 20:1. Then only put 1 gal of the unknown mix at a time in the bikes tank with 2 galons of gas that I knew was 40:1. That way I'd be either geting pure 40:1 or 33:1 which would work fine also and not waste any gas. ;)

I agree , just label your cans or put the mixed cans in a different area of camp, or something, as far as running mixed fuel in your tank? should not be a problem, as mentioned before, gas/fuel is petroleum based, and if you do the math adding five gallons of say 50:1 to your truck tank that has already say 20 gallons, would now make the ratio something like 200:1/250:1 whatever, which is fairly insignifigant...will not harm sensors etc. I am A mechanic at a Chevy dealership in So. Cal, and have seens just about everything you can see, put in gas tanks, one time an angry ex-girlfriend dumped about five gallons of orange soda in his tank...ran like shit for a while till it was dilluted enough. but still did not harm anything. personally I think it is a good thing, every now and again for some extra lube in the top-end of your truck

just my three cents.

P.S. just don't get it in those diesels.....

I have 5 cans that I Use. 1 is marked race mix 40:1, which is 1/2 race gas/ 1/2 premium/mixed 40:1. 2 are marked race gas, and the last 2 are just premium for mixing with the race fuel or the generator. The one marked race gas get's filled with enough oil for 5 gallons @ 40:1, then 2 1/2 gallons of race, then 2 1/2 gallons premium. I've found this procedure works the best for me. I tried the tags, but they get moved, or you forget to move it

it would also depend on what fuel you're running too. Red dye in unocal 110 or vp 110 won't work cuz its already red. Another for sure option on the safety dye deal is to get some fuel scent from summit racing. Its got a dye in it and will make your shee smell purdy! It's also nice to "mask" any unsightly odors from addatives that may give up your secrets! I'm not sure on what it is but they dye diesel fuel based on if road taxes were paid or not. Tractors and other off-road vehicles run a red dye fuel that has no taxes paid. The dye makes it easily identified as such. They must be getting some sort of safe dye from somewhere???

I thought of something. Not practical but possible. There are UV dyes available just about everywhere under the use of fuel leak detection. Problem is that you need a UV light to see the dye. I searched and found another possibility, but the dyes come in 55gal. drums only. If you're mixing that much fuel you better know which can is mixed and which is fresh :whoa:
