03'ScreaminShee Posted March 25, 2004 Report Posted March 25, 2004 Alright, I bought my new shee a few weeks ago. Since then I have put a boost bottle and a Pro Design intake w/ K&N and pre-filter. I did not re-jet because I did a plug chop with those mods on and the plugs were black/wet. I thought maybe Banshees are jetted rich from the factory. The problem i'm having is a bog at about 1/4 throttle then it is fine from 1/2 all the way up. It seems like it is needing more gas but not sure because it seems like it's running ok or even a little rich looking at the plug color. I heard it is just from the stock pipes but don't know for sure. Any help? Quote
Banchetta Posted March 25, 2004 Report Posted March 25, 2004 Your plugs will always look black under normal riding. You have to run it wide open for 5-10 seconds in 6th gear to burn it in to color...If not, your wasting your time... the hesitation can be taken out w/ the air screws for stock pipes... Quote

It seems like it is needing more gas from 1/4 to 1/2 throttle is mostly needle. with the added airflow, you could probably benefit from moving the needles one clip richer, down away from the blunt end. That will get you a little more fuel in the midrange. After that, see how it runs. Then do a wide open throttle plug test like Banchetta said, that will tell you how the main is running. Good luck and get back to us. Quote
