trial and error. NO ONE knows exactly what size they need until they try some and find out.

Start around 310 main with a 30 pilot and the needle on the 3rd clip. That is a very very big assumption and will most definetly need some trying on the main. You could end up a 300 or 280, but it's better to start rich, and since I don't know what you need I threw that rich number in there.

Go to the FAQ section here and read the jetting FAQ, that will help a bunch.

This is what i got, you could probably go close to the same jets as me since i have been told that i could be running 340 mains with a K&N and open air box. my set up now seems to work fine.

Aproximate jetting for sea level, 60 to 80 degrees, airbox lid on W/ snorkel removed and the stock foam filter.

#30 pilots air screws 2 turns out

Needle in stock position (3rd clip)

#270 mains

You may want to start slightly richer on the mains but that is my guess for what the mains will be when you are dialed in.

Read the jetting FAQ, it has good instrucrtions for how to change the jets and pics of what it looks like inside the carbs and where the pilot and main jet are located.

The dealer said to go smaller? I knew a guy that had just got new pipes, and someone told him that leaner is faster, and told him to go from 200 mains to 160! Lets just say his motor did'nt last long.

I'm at 700 ft, around 30 degreesF pro circuit pipes, pro design foam filter, no snorkel, and v-force reeds. I'm jetted at 330 mains, 27.5 pilots, and needles in stock(middle) position. airscrews around 2 turns out.

You'll definately need to be iaround 300 for the mains, and those pipes do like a big pilot. I was at 30 until I got the reeds, and then had to go down.

Yup yup. ALWAYS start rich, and work from there. A fouled plug is ALOT better than a melted top end..... You ned to start at least at a 310 main. Main jets are cheap. You should buy 280-320. Thhat way, you will have an assortment on your hands, and you will be happy in the long run.....
