BansheeJerry Posted March 22, 2004 Report Posted March 22, 2004 I have coffman pipes with the stock silencers. Will I gain any power with a set of aftermarket silencers? I kind of like the factory silencers with the black coffman pipes for the stealth-sleeper look but if aftermarket will give me more power than I will look into getting a set. Is there anything I can do to the stock ones to gain any power without making it too loud? Quote
nater006 Posted March 22, 2004 Report Posted March 22, 2004 Well, having it less restrictive or a larger diameter is the only stuff you could do. If your stockers are pretty straight-through in style (never seen any stockers unfortunately..) then there won't be any power gain to go to the Coffman ones. Removing any restrictions (e.g. spark arrestors..hehe) is the way to get better performance out of it. As long as the stocker is roughly the same diameter of pipe, there'll be next to no (if any) performance gains by going aftermarket. Quote
