knight_ripper
I was out on the trails in Hollister, Ca. this last weekend and busted a perch. The damn thing just broke...fell off when coming to a stop. Anyway, my buddy had some QuikSteel (kinda like JB weld) I put that stuff on there and in 30 minutes I was off to the races. I put a couple tie wraps on there to take off the pressure, but worked great. I think its a must for everyones toolbox.
nater006
Yup -- JB Weld/Quicksteel are good. Only problem is that they seem to be pretty vibration prone.. but for a quick-fix, its great. Used to use JB Weld before they came out with the quicker stuff -- now it has like a 4-minute sit time. Crazy. Good call though... definitely good stuff for the trailside fix. STLbanshee
Ya, Ive used it on a exhaust port on my boat motor before, where in the back of the head (used to be a car head, but no used for marine) there was a exhaust port that blew out the plug, and wadded up some quick steel and shoved it in there, hasnt leaked since..
