"thenewguy" Posted March 21, 2004 Report Posted March 21, 2004 today i started up the banshee and let it run for about 15 minuters or so. then i just hit the kill switcgh and turned the gas off. then i checked the plugs and the side with the choke was coverd in gas while the other side was dry and kinda dark brown. i just took my carbs off and was wondering what could be the problem. on the side with the coke on that little tube that goes to the reeds gas a little gassy but i dont know if thats normal or not. where do i locate the numbers for jets? im just checking the main and pilots on these stock carbs right? thanks for any help. "thenewguy" Posted March 21, 2004 Author Report Posted March 21, 2004 ok the mains are 260. do i take the floater off to check the other one? its got white brothers boost bottle, fmf fattys pipes and power core 2 silencers. i dont know what altituded im at but im south of boston massachusetts, and have a compression of 125 psi with stock bores as far as i know. anyone know what kind of jets i should be aiming for? or is there a place that will have a chart or somethin? thanks Quote
frocashmoney24 Posted March 21, 2004 Report Posted March 21, 2004 try www.thebansheezone.com for a chart, or if benbb chimes in... Quote
Banchetta Posted March 21, 2004 Report Posted March 21, 2004 Your pretty close...you shouldn't have any gas or wetness around any tubes or boots...sounds like a leak..fix that and run the shee wide open in 6th gear for 5-10 seconds, then pull the plugs...idling will give you false plug readings and won't tell you nothing about the mains unless you run the throttle wide open.. MotulMonsta Posted March 21, 2004 Report Posted March 21, 2004 I don't know..Your always going to have gas on the reeds, or anything after the carbs for that matter. Did you have the choke on? Or did you just let it idle for 15 min? Sometimes..especially with the stock carbs, fuel will be drawn through the choke tube in the bowl when the choke is off. Does it run good otherwise? You might be jetted a bit rich..no big deal. Quote
"thenewguy" Posted March 22, 2004 Author Report Posted March 22, 2004 i tent to post question before reading the gaq's . after i read that it says that at 0 1/8 its the ideling and air screw adjustment 1/4 to 3/4 its the pilot jet or somethin and 3/4 to wide open throttle id the main jet. so i come to the conclusion that its not getting enough air. ill adjust them air screws and let it idel and see what happens. im thinkin i might have a problem with the pilot jet too because it will go fine then kinda go at the same speed untill you get wipe lashed and have to put on a neck brace. i thought it should be more gradual. but ill just see how the plugs look at running at those differnt throttle positions. thanks for the help, i think im gonna see if i can find that chart. peace Quote
