dsviper22 Posted March 21, 2004 Report Posted March 21, 2004 Ok, this may be nothing but figured i'd ask to be sure. I had my bike jetted by a local shop ( has a very good rep too! ) so i'm not sure what size jets/mains i'm running. All I know is, the plugs look good and the shee runs great. Well I got some vforce reeds and some new plugs to check the jetting. And when i pulled them out, the left side is just a shade or two darker than the right. I was thinking maybe there's some dirt or something in the carbs. But I checked the old plugs and sure enough the left side is about 1 or 2 shades darker. Now, both plugs are light tan in color so it looks like the jet's are fine. So should I adjust the airscrew on the left or right side? And which way should I turn it.. clockwise or counter clockwise..? Thanks!!! Quote
00BANSHEE Posted March 21, 2004 Report Posted March 21, 2004 In my opinion, if your bike starts easy and idles good then don't mess with the pilots or the air screws. You didn't mention anywhere in your post that you were having any problems in those areas. Quote

I wouldn't mess with the air screw unless there is a problem with idling or some throttle response issues. As far as the color, depends on how light. I like mine to be a good chocolate brown, that's where it runs the best. The way you said that scares me a little that it might be a little lean. You will probably need to rejet with the new reed cage due to the extra air coming in, thats why it's lighter. A couple sizes on the main should do it, maybe a clip richer on the needle, away from the blunt end. Quote
Banchetta Posted March 24, 2004 Report Posted March 24, 2004 Tan!!! Your too lean, go up on the mains and redo the plug check... I wouldn't trust any local shop, ESPECIALLY, and I mean ESPECIALLY w/ jetting. Its and art and take a lot of time to correctly dialing in a shee...The local shops will just throw in some jets and charge you top dollar...Rejet it yourself and you'll be a lot happier..For all you know, they only changed one side....
