roosthrower
the rz motor is far superior to the banshee's. the cooling openings on the head and cylinders are much larger on the rz and its got powervalves. I'm sure the rz has better porting than the shee does too. It must if it puts out over 20 hp more than a stock shee. It seems like the only parts you would need is the rz cylinders, servo motor, battery to open and close the powervalves, an altrenator to keep the battery charged, and the rz cdi unit. Why didn't yamaha just keep the rz components on the banshee's motor? They could have had a quadzilla killer. The banshee motor could have been so much better. None of the new four strokes could hold a candle to an rz powered shee.
BenBB
If all goes well I'll let ya know in June...
bkabina
You need the whole electrical system from the rz.The porting is pretty much exact, when the power valves are closed, but when they open the exhaust really opens up.You also need exhaust adaptores so your shee exhaust will fit the rz cylinders.I don't know about anyone else but all my shee's are already quadzilla killers. roosthrower
I guess I'll wait until june. BenBB, are you the guy doing the project rz shee on thebansheezone.com?
BenBB
No that's Meat. Minkia38 has one, as does broke, rzcolobanshee, and a couple others. I can't wait to try it, might be sooner...
rzcolobanshee
It's a good cheap way to get a better motor, if you take your time and find a good deal it will cost you nothing (might even make money) if you sell you banshee motor. You wont gain 20hp, i would say 5 maybe 10 at the most. Be prepared to spend a lot of time on the wiring.
nickxc
I saw an rz powered shee on ebay the other day Im gunna check it out and see what its up to
roosthrower
cool. the rz comes with a temp gauge too which will come in handy during repeated drag races. I hate wiring though. But I think it will be worth it if I can find a cheap set of rz cylinders and everything else I need for the transfer.
bigwill
Who needs RZ electrical? roosthrower
how much?
Minkia38
i have an extra rz harness for sale yes, you honestly only gain 5-10hp, my ported rz is making 56hp at 93mph, with stock head, very mild clean up port. usable power is alot better too the one on ebay is like 5000 bucks i know someone selling an rzmotor and elec - condition inside unknown for like 600 bucks plus shipping, it runs but probably needs a rebuild and you have to make adapter for pipes, and only a handful of pipes will fit it - including ROCKET pipes (email me, 425 bare, 525 triple chrome). hope this helps! its a fun project! roosthrower
couldn't you just make some hooks for the cylinders so that you could use pipe springs to hold the pipes in place?
Minkia38
no you cant - the pipe end are different - the rz pipes BOLT up to rz cylinders banshee pipes slide on and are held with springs - you need to build or buy custom adapters for ANY pipe except RZ pipes whick will not fit in any way
