Gaps Between Reeds And Cages....

Recommended Posts

i have pyramid racing reeds and cages on my shee and while cleaning the carbs the other day i inspected the reeds. there is a small gap between the reeds and cages, in the manual it says there should be no gap, is this just for stock reeds or is it time to invest in some new reed petals?

cheers

I'm betting if the gap isn't larger than the thickness of a piece of paper or so you won't notice much if any improvement by flipping them. The ideal situation is no gap, but I bet if all of us checked our reed that 90% of us have a little gap. The oil and back pressure will seal a minor gap.

i had that idea too!! but the gap wasn't that small hence the post here :o when i flipped the reeds the gap reduced but there was still a gap!! surely the cages cant be at fault as both of them are the same...???

im stuck!!

cheers
