icemanscold
When I go to hit 6th gear on pavement, the front end starts goin all nuts and shakey. I took the freakin rims to my buddies shop and he balanced them, still no change. Anybody got any ideas? Even put new tires on it. Newer front end bearings. banshee76179
mine to... I think it is probably a combo of things.. tire pressure. the knobbies on the pavement. the speed on the pavement and maybe the 22''
Proquad101
Mine used to get a bad shimmey in the front end when I put my fast trekers on it. The only thing I did was get a some mods done to the motor,it made it fast enough for go thru the shimmey just like car that has a shimmey at a certain mph. I have not found anything to make it go away except for the speed. If anybody finds something better let me know.
icemanscold
Before I had all these mods done I never had a problem. Speeds have changed, and I plan of goin back to Milan dragway this year. What kind of front tire do ya recommend?
bigwill
I would check those a-arm bushing.

87blueshee
I know you said you balanced the rims but are one of the rims bent? Mine were bent up front and the front end would jump up and down in 6th.
Sneaky Pete
a friend of mine had that problem with a truck (12" of lift). He did something like a stabilizer on the front (the shocks on the tie rods). He said that reduced his problem. Also I drag race a 98 z28 10.82 et. the tires make a real difference on my car. The stock tires had a tendency to follow the bumbs. When I went to skinny's the following went away but the vibration was killing me. I sold those to somebody and got another brand. The vibration was totally gone. That's at 124.23 mph
"thenewguy"
put you front end up on blocks so your tire just misses the ground. spin the tire i garentee you that it stops and hits the ground at one point. or your rim is not aligned perfectly on the hub. its one of those. how much play do you have in your steering?
