2004 Yfz450 Vs. 2004 Banshee

Recommended Posts

If you have an 80hp Banshee like you say you do then there is no realing them in on pavement...

Exactly...in fact there is no "realing them in" on any surface. If you are not

winning a DRAG from start to finish with 60hp, let alone 80...then you need

to find the right tire for the surface you are racing on. If your problem is not

the tire, then you just don't know how to ride.

And a GOOD mx'r might beat me on a MX track with a 450, but a GOOD mx'r

on a modded banshee will beat an average mx'r on a 450.

So there you go.

my gearing and horse power will allow me to pull gears that will propel me to over 100mph and his bike tops out upper 70's so do the math on the gearing....on pavment i can real him in like a fish, because of my tall gearing and horse power, ever ride a rd or rz street bike? but in the dirt you gotta get it to the ground to win a drag....

Yes a friend of mine used to own one, took it for a spin a couple of times alot of fun to ride.

Yup i agree but with 80hp, a stock or even worst a -lenght swing-arm and MX tires you never will never be able to get your Shee to take off like it is capable of and exploit the full potential of your engine.

I dont think you have any idea how fast a "correctly" set up 80hp Banshee can be even in a short race...

i said it before and i will say it again the banshee is a legend and you can't compare a legend to a new tech 450...

if the 450 was built during the same decade as the banshee it wouldn't of had a chance against the shee... yeah the 450 is faster when comparing stock to stock.. but don't forget that when yamaha built the banshee they were looking to slow it down to watch there back for law suits.... for example the banshee was designed keeping the RZ350 in mind however notice that yamaha got rid of the power valves, put on some of the most power guzzling pipes they could on it to slow it down... The banshee was ahead of its time.... don't forget when they started making the banshee was close to when they started making any quads to begin with.. this was before 700's were even considered... Today yamaha has designed the 450 to put out almost as much power as it can stock leaving no room for modds... the banshee was the complete opposite on the banshee they built a quad with so much potential that they literally had to come up with ways to slow it down.... And this is why i believe that a stock banshee shouldn't be compared to a stock 450... the 450 was built to be able to win races with out modds... however the banshee still holds the title for most potential in my eyes....

The 450 is just a phase as was the raptor... soon enough yamaha will come out with something better than the 450 and the 450 will be forgotten just as the raptor was... when was the last time people were comparing raptors to banshee's?? why aren't the raptors being compared to the 450... its cuz the banshee is a legend and still is....

if ur just the weekend racer wit not a lot of money for modds then go ahead get a 450.. but i prefer a legend over a rookie... the real question is not which quad has the most power but rather which one has been the most popular for over a decade??

if you got a trick for getting a two cycle to the ground fill us in on it......

Are you serious? It doesn't matter if it's a 2stroke or a 4stroke,

rear wheel horsepower is rearwheel horsepower. I have ridden 2stroke and 4stroke quads, dirtbikes, you name it. Of course 2strokes rev faster and

harder. They will also leave the line faster and harder if you set your bike

up right and know how to ride it. This site is full of information about making

power and getting it to the ground.

I do, hehe, ask Stan about the ancient Chinese secret...

BTW it doesn't work so well when you click neutral instead of 2nd at the bottom of comp :shootself:

lol, I tryed that trick a couple of times too...It didn't work for me or I need more practice. I popped it neutral so much this last presidents day weekend :shootself: but with most of the slowhundred ex's I was racing the first day i could cilck it in gear and still pass em by the 3rd or 4th whoop.
