Well, where was everyone? I was there from 10am till 3pm. Had a great time climbing hills/making some new ones. Even found a tricky jump. only have about a 7ft. run to clear a 15-17ft. gap. You had to clear it or you would land on a fallen tree about 4ft. in diam! What a blast! I love technical stuff like that. It is not how far , high, or how steep, or how big the jump or hill, it's how technical it is. Hope to see some of you there this summer. Matt, where were you? I thought I could count on you there. I was a t the bottom by the shelter house in the center.

Spoin, sorry but we didn't get there until after 11:00. One of the guys that we were meeting with was already parked up top. I saw your truck there, but everytime that I went by, you weren't there. On our last run of the day we went through the bottoms on the ESE part of the property, near the campground. I could tell that you had been there, tearing it up on the hills. It looked like a good day for hill climbing. Too bad I missed you guys. By the way, where did all of the snow come from, wasn't it 60 yesterday?

mrmatt: I was there this weekend (fri, sat, and sun), and I was looking for you, but I was looking from the truck. On Friday, about 2 hours into the riding trip, we were all hauling across some sand in the back and I cam up on a bowl with a 3 ft boulder in the middle. Was able to miss the boulder but I nosedived into the sand and threw me over the bars.....Result: Dislocated fracture of my left coller bone. I sat the rest of the weekend in the truck while the other 10 guys in my group played. The 'shee seems fine, but she sat on the trailer the rest of the weekend. On sunday we were parked about 4 trucks down the main road from the first porta johns on the right. 4 trucks, one with an enclosed trailer....maybe somebody noticed it, and the shee sitting on the trailer beside it. I was wanting to meet you too mrmatt.....maybe next time.

Sorry I didn't get to meet up with you. I accidentally deleted the PM that you sent me and I couldn't remember your userid. Stupid me. That sucks that you got hurt. That place is very hard on people, I have seen too many riders taken out of there in ambulances. There are so many misplaced boulders, steep drop offs, washed out trails, and other riders that you always have to be alert. They need to park a 4x4 ambulance out there on the busy weekends.

The truck in my Avatar hasn't been driven in months. I am in the middle of putting a 460 in it. Since I can't work on it in my garage and I don't use it as a daily driver anymore I haven't been in a hurry to get it running.

I think that there used to be an HQ tradition of putting duct tape on the flag pole. Can anybody confirm this? A clear indication of other HQ members would have been very helpful this weekend.

Well maybe next time. You definately saw some of our marks on hills yesterday. We made some new ones in the back by the campground. One guy on a new 450 said he could make it no problem! Well, he had a problem........he got about 8-10ft. from the top and let's just say he found reverse and found out not to hit the back brakes as you are going backwards down a very steep hill. His quad had to be totalled! Even the head pipe came off! Someday these guys will learn that the only way to climb hills with a banshee, is on a banshee! S :headbang: ee ya!

I was hopeing for the 4th, but we are having the family easter a weekend early.... damnit.

well if you're having easter early, then you can ride on easter, right. Me and the girlfriend will be there. They do an egg hunt where you find eggs with numbers on them and turn them in for parts and stuff.

oh yeah, I was there last sunday too. I blew my sidewall of my front tire after the first 10 minutes of riding, bought a set of tires from the badlands store, and spent most of the day trying to find a place that could break the beads for me. I ended up plugging it and riding for 2 hours :shootself: .
