DBLtapS Posted March 15, 2004 Report Posted March 15, 2004 04 banshee, Toomey t-6's, 2:1 high flow air kit, 290 mains, 30 pilot, clip on the 3 groove down from the blunt end, 2.5 turns out. Yamalube 24:1. Shee bogs from idle to 1/4. I have been playing with her for the last three days. This seems to be the best but, still not as responsive as my buddys 03 with FMF fattys 280 main, stock needle 3rd groove, 27.5 pilots. Am I running my premix too rich? Anyone have similar mods that can give me what they run? 40-60 degrees Michigan. Later Quote
DBLtapS Posted March 15, 2004 Author Report Posted March 15, 2004 no air box, just a foam filter with outerwares Quote
Schizo Posted March 15, 2004 Report Posted March 15, 2004 I think 24:1 is overkill, get some good oil and go 32:1 or 40:1 and i was running 330 mains and 30 pilots with a similar set up. Quote
04Banshee Posted March 15, 2004 Report Posted March 15, 2004 I am running the same set up as you. 2004 Banshee Tr6 with 2:1 filter with outerwear. I run 32:1 yamalube, 280 mains, stock pilots with Toomey needles on the 4th groove just like the instructions say, it should run near perfect if your all stock. Quote
spoin39 Posted March 15, 2004 Report Posted March 15, 2004 Your pilot is a little big for T-6's, try a 27.5 with screw about 1.5 turns out and see how that does. Quote
DBLtapS Posted March 15, 2004 Author Report Posted March 15, 2004 I went back to what Toomey suggested for TR6's. 180 mains, stock pilots(25,) and their needle 4th groove down. Called Toomey and finally came up with the oil ratio. I was running what the manual calls for, 24:1. Toomey told me to run 30:1 2R. Shee rips now. :flame: All that re-jetting work for nothing. I guess I did learn allot though. Thanks Quote
Banchetta Posted March 16, 2004 Report Posted March 16, 2004 Try a smaller pilot...many people go too rich on the pilots and loads the motor up at zero throttle, then when you open it up, it takes a couple of seconds to clean up. I'd go up on the mains, down on the pilots, and adjust the air screws... Quote
DBLtapS Posted March 17, 2004 Author Report Posted March 17, 2004 sorry sredish, typo. 280 mains, 25 pilots, air screw 1.5 turns out. Does nayone have a link to a good photo of a properlly jetted machine? mine are a light greyish brown on one half the ceramic and a bit lighter on the other. Quote
Banchetta Posted March 20, 2004 Report Posted March 20, 2004 Everyone has their opinions, but I read the strap. I get it to a dark brown color... Quote
Klotzban1 Posted March 21, 2004 Report Posted March 21, 2004 Mine turns out like Banchettas plugs do ....a dark brown, and no blueing on my pipes. I'm running 260 which came with my FMF pipes and using klotz benol and 93 octane. I thought that my coolhead and domes would make a drastic change on my jetting....but all seems well. Quote
