swayze2005
I went to my girlfriends house yesterday and her dad let me ride his yzf and that thing just rips. But I have not ridden my shee in a while so I dont know if it is to much difference. I did notice that it is almost all low-end, when you hammer down it really goes but it doesnt get much faster. Would a stock banshe be able to compete with one in the sand?
MotulMonsta
Stock banshee would rip it a new asshole in the sand.
SICK BOY
I think the Banshee would kill it in the sand, but on a tight mx track the 450 would rule.
2fun
I think stock for stock, the YFZ would be faster. 350 lbs, and 39 H.P. @ the rear wheels.
ranshee
WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU GUYS ! Our bikes will rip these fools new ones. Well maybe not but we will win in a drag, come on guys!
locogato11283
Stock banshee would rip it a new asshole in the sand. get real. have you ridden a yfz450?? i love banshees but im sorry to say the 450 stock is gonna eat up a stock banshee. might as well face the fact that its a fast quad. chris97shee
My friends got a yfz and that thig is fast for bein stock. we raced on the track in our dessert and i was beating him the whole time. whenevr we go trailing i am always in front. We havent been to the dunes yet but im sure i'll beat him there, maybe im just a better rider
2fun
I believe the Banshee to be 389lbs, and approx 38 RWHP. The YFZ has a TON of torque too!
Blue Duece
im thinkin stock the 450 smokes the shee
Nighty
stock for stock definatly the 450 wins all round. you might stand a really small chance draging on asphalt. i raced a mildly tuned 450 (snorkel removed rejeted and dbkiller/spark arrester removed) and had a hard time catching up on a tight sand track, with my banshee. pipes + k&n c'mon guys this thing is supposted to be the successor of the shee. fact is: riding a banshee is a way of life. 2 stroke, mixing oil, fucking high rev i love it but i'd love to own a 450. nickxc
The 450 moves but throw a set of pipes and reeds in your shee and smokem all day long They are really close to maxed out in power from the factory, you can get a little with a pipe but other than that there isnt much that can be done for the extra $1000 they paid for the 4-joke You can put that money into your shee and really smok-em :flame:
locogato11283
The 450 moves but throw a set of pipes and reeds in your shee and smokem all day long never underestimate the power of the
Brian G
YFZ all the way, as much as I hate to say it...... but it is the truth.
Ducman
Ah Yes, I finally have some personal yzf450 experience. I was at Winchester Bay Oregon this weekend and was climbing a chute known as "Baldy". I went up behind a couple yzf 450s, one looked to be just piped, the other stock. I weigh 250 so weight advantage wasn't on my side. I started out quite a bit after them and I was climbing us their asses by about 2/3rds of the way up at the "S" curve section in the trees and then could accelerate past where it opened up on top as long as I didn't miss a shift or something stupid in the s turn section. I was able to shift into and pull 4th from about 1/4 of the way up to 2/3, to the "S" turn where yoiu have to slow down to make the turn. They might not have been trying to go as fast since you have to slow down at the "S" turn anyway, and it may have been different if we were actually racing, but usually most people go at it all out. My shee isn't that highly modded and I had Sand Stars, they had haulers. With my low/mid pipes my shee rips in 1rst through 4th, but gets weak in 5th and pretty wimpy in 6th in the sand. Those 4 strokes pull like tractors though and make it look like it took a lot less effort; less shifting, not needing clutch feathering like the shee sometimes does to get back in the power if when it bogs , and the YZF stay in their broader power range easier. I would have to say that the YZF would probably be easier to get on and go faster for an inexperienced or intermediate rider. I heard another story at camp though about a YZF that was fully modded, cams, carb, U name it, ect, that was drag racing anyone that would race, raced 19 banshees and only 1 fully built stroked banshee could beat it. Moral of the story... In the end a Banshee still won!
2fun
Yeah, baldy is a cool hill, but not as hard as it used to be a few years ago! Used to have to duck under a fallen tree right as you exited there for awhile!
