just blew top end after 1/2 hour with new trinity 2 into 1 setup, can i cry now??? after a few wide open passes to check the plugs, the motor just locked, cannot kick over motor, thinking rings are seized, can't start tear down until weekend to verify so all help is appreciated, carb came out of box with 190 main jet and 52 pilot jet, a friend said he thought he was running a 175 main with a 55 pilot in his similar setup, but not sure.. maybe bad info??? now it'll cost some coin to undo my new headache. grrrrrr....

Lesson learned. ALWAYS check your jetting at idle and ALWAYS run rich and work down. NEVER run an engine at full throttle until you first determine at idle how it's behaving. This problem could have been avoided.

Check your jetting at idle????? Tell me exactly how you would do this. Nasty I bet you have an airleak some where that caused your rings to stick. Do a leak down test after you get it rebuilt to find it.

you should do a leakdown test BEFORE you tear it down and see if that was the problem. Chances are it is since you just threw that setup on. I dont have a single carb setup but I'm sure someone on here can verify that those jetting settings arent gonna seize up an engine that quickly. If anything you might've just been a little lean. Hell, I've been a little lean for a whole weekend and my engine ran like a top. Leaner the meaner they say.....

I was just gonna say the same thing!!!! Leakdown test BEFORE YOU CRACK A BOLT on that thing. You ned to determine the problem before you do anything.... it is absolutely necessary. An air leak sounds valid. What do the plugs look like? Do they have any aluminum on them? Did you use new gaskets on the cylinder intakes? You also could have sucked a reed in, but I don't think that would lock up the motor..... You could have also threw a bearing in the crank, or a rod bearing.... Could be alot of things.... Pull the stator cover and see if the motor will rotate backwards.....

plugs were just replaced last time out, which was about 4 hours with the 26mm carbs, bike felt the same as always, just finished putting on the 2 into 1 and was trying to work out the bugs and see how it felt, pulled good until about 3/4 throttle then kina leveled off. trinity kit was completely all brand new components, pulled the plugs when i got home they are medium chocolate, bone dry, no noticeable silver flecking to the naked eye, will hit them with a magnifying glass later.. bike has been a screamer since i bought it from a friend in 01, after the motor was rebuilt because he had hydro-locked it, never had any problems until the carb. change.. also was first ride with the dyna fs, which is set like my buddies banshee with the 2 into 1 on curve 2, maybe a little too aggresive before i got the carb. package tuned right....
