Speedfreak
I know riding in the dunes would be a blast but do any of you dune regulars have problems with the engine and sand

Cotton eyed Joe
NONE.........Good air filter = no problems. EXACTLY!! Also someone on our Roostfest trip had some problems with his carb boots to his airbox being too slippery, and the box could wiggle a little. That means that the box would wiggle off of the boots. Several hose clamps and some zip ties later, problem solved. The whole thing needs to be tight to ensure no sand gets sucked it.

BdBanshee
No problems since 1988 with sand in the engine. I used to use a K&N in the airbox, and then swapped to clamp-on K&N's for more power.
