Need Chain Roller/slider Advice

I am currently running an Amp-Link and I am tired of the noise and power loss that it creates. I figure that I will still have good traction with my shortened swingarm, so I am going to take it off for a while. What do you guys recommend? Should I put a stock roller on the swingarm pivot tube, or should I install one of the 'sliders' that are available? I ride mostly trails with plenty of abrasive mud, sand, and water.

Matt, I'm running a TM Designworks chain slider and love it. Think it's got a lifetime warranty too, but it's been holding up for a couple years perfectly. Not sure about their rollers since I haven't tried them, but my stock upper roller shelled out sometime Saturday, I'll probably just replace the bearing but you can get the whole roller from TM, MSR (via RMA or others), UPP, or dirtly.com.

Same here. Don't have the paperwork though, so the warranty may be no good.

I've ran the UPP sliders as well, they're alright, wear slowly but surely...pretty good buy, but if you can afford just a bit more, go with TM Designworks. ;)

upp rollers and slides are great. wanted to try t.m.'s slide but after buying their rear chain guide and having it lock up and create drag i probably wont. although their rollers have worked well, i have had one of their lip rollers on the bottom and its holding up pretty good. but don't buy the rear chain guide from t.m., mine locked up from the mud after only 3 or 4 rides, so from now on i'll stay with the slides.

I'm running a complete TM system, slider, rollers, guides. I haven't had to replace a roller in 3 years. Haven't had a problem with it at all. well except at first, I had to shave down the swing arm slider because it was pinching the chain against the roller. After that it was all butter. In fact I really don't worry about what's going on with my rollers because I know they will hold up. Also TM won't even bother to try to sell you a new roller because they say it's good forever and will replace it if it fails.

upp kit works great. i dropped the swing arm to do the initial change over to their slider, but it was no big deal. i've been running it for about a year without any problems.
