Fuel Storage Stabilizer

Recommended Posts

I use stabilizer with every jug I fill up, unless I'm on a trip and I know I'll be using the fuel. My work gets so busy, I may not be able to ride much for a week or two sometimes, and while I konw that two week old fuel is okay, the one time it gets longer than that, I like to make sure my fuel is good. It won't hurt anything at all. When I was in high school, I had a problem with bad fuel once and ever since have used stabilizer.

On our ranch, we have 2 500 gallon diesel tanks and a 500 gallon gas tank and we always have stabilizer on hand for the tanks, so I just use it for my banshee too.

I started using STA-BIL gas stabilizer several years ago because I was having regular problems with pilot jet plugging on Grandsons KX60. Started using STA-BIL and no more pilot problems. Also use it in weed eaters, blowers. and chain saws. I try to mix up no more than I need for that trip. When next ride comes around, maybe 3 months later, I just top off tank with fresh mix and not worry about the old stuff in the tank and carbs. You could also drain the tank and float bowls and dump into the truck but that is too much work for me. Not good idea to run old untreated premix thru the 2-stroke.
