mcaf29
I just got a cancelation notice for my house insurance. They said effective Jan 2nd they will not cover anyone who has an ATV on the premises!! I called around and it appears that almost all the insurance Co. in MA have gone that route. They will cover me till April 8th then I'm dropped. They will also dop you if you have a trampoline on the premises, I'm so glad I'm outta here in a few months. ranshee
Thats kind of like ours. They say sence we have two "viscious" pit bulls its hard to get insurence out in california. Funny thing is is that they are two of sweetest dogs in the world. Its kinda funny though that insurence doesnt want to take someones money, usually they will do what ever they can for an extra nickel. locogato11283
insurance is a fuckin ripoff. its bullshit how they start drivers out really high and shit. they should start it low then raise it when they f*ck up. insurance really irritates me and i f*ck em every chance i get. might as well get something out of the thousands of dollars i pay in every year. bignasty1
yeh man insurance kills me 2. ya see thats why i wasnt able to get my buddy's car.it was a built as a mutha fucka. it was a 78 trans am that had been bored, stroked and blown. the thing's rediculous. well needless to say the insurance company doesnt want me to have a muscle car of any type. even tho i like to think of my self as a good driver.... i think its bs. i never done anything in a car thats stupid and hadnt planned on it. i'm not a fast and furious high schooler in a civic with a fart cannon out getting speeding tickets. it wasnt even going to be my daily driver and i still couldnt part with th cash to insure it. i am writen as the full time driver on my moms truck which is a 2000 gmc sierra 2500 4x4. but they said since there were only going to be 3 vehicles insured at my house with 3 driver it had to be writen down as a full time driver for someone. my dad has a good driving record but my mom doesnt, and i am young so it didnt work out....... itsa load of shit. sorry for the rant. Cotton eyed Joe
Im surprised they are dropping you, and not just raising your rates to un godly proportions. Never heard of them doing it over an ATV either. Everything I have is through Allstate
evil
allstate is a freakin scamm too !!! they trippled my rates since i had a break in and said they wouldnt but on a good side the bikes are covered as long as there in the garage, but still

boonman
And then it sucks even more after that happens. In NY, it is illegal for an insurance company to drop you. They HAVE to offer you some kind of insurance. It is usually at an astronomical rate. I had the windshield shatter in an '82 Toyota pickup. (damn 3rd gear WOT launches got the better of it....) and after they replaced it, they sent me a cancellation notice. BUT, they did offer me, like thay had to by law, insurance. Except instead of the $800 a year full coverage i was paying, they wanted $3200 per 6 months of LIABILITY ONLY coverage. That's $6400 a year. I told them to take a flying f*ck on a rolling donut. And then went to progressive. Much much cheaper. Now I am with Allstate. Since I got married, things are much cheaper. Also, I wil never carry collision coverage on anything I own. Nor will I carry theft. Believe it or not, it wll cost you the same in the long run insurance premium wise if you crash up your 1976 Datsun, or you crash up your 2003 BMW into a busload of Nuns. The insurance company rates things 2 different ways. look up your record, and you will see. (This is in NY, I don't know how it is elsewhere) Either a claim $1,000 and uunder, or a claim over $1,000. So, you could have a $1200 accident, or you could have a $100,000 accident, and on paper in your insurance "score", it all looks the same. Kind of bull shit if you ask me. Now, I ma sure that some knob will jump in here, (usually an insurance salesman) to tell me I am wrong. Well, I had several friends at State farm insurance. And I have several friends in other companies. I have seen the records, and that is how they are written up. You get a record of your liscence, (record of convictions) and then a record of accidents and claims. Now, there is also a PIAO, (Personal Injury Auto Accident), and one without injury. THose are noted. But, the plateau is $1,000. What do you think about that?

Sometimes here, the agents f*ck you up, while another one wouldn't. We had that happen with State Farm, which I why I bailed and went to Allstate. When I totalled out my banshee, my rates didn't change because of it, but because I have a 2000 frame holding all of those parts on it now. It went up something like $2-$4 per month for 6 months. It cost them just over $5,000 after the bike claim, and the chiropractor.

mcaf29
Boonman, not sure if I understand what you mean. Here in MA collision is for when you crash your car, and need a new one (basically the idea). My wife pays $800 a year for her 2004 Jeep Liberty w/ full coverage so if she (or me) rolls it or totals it into a tree, they pay the loan out (you need to make sure they do this, some pay market value!). So I'm not sure what you mean about no difference between a 2003 BMW and a 1976 Datsun. Here in MA it would be about $24,000 out our pockets! I don't carry full coverage on my 94 B4000 though cause it wouldn't be worth it. I'm not trying to be the "knob" just want to see if collision is the same in NY. MA law requires a redonkulous amount of liability so that would cover the nuns but it would not replace the bimmer. Another note on insurance in MA, all the listed Companies I've used when moving around in the Nav but none of them (except maybe allstate but limited) operate in MA, no Geico, Progressive, you name the big name insurnce CO. and they probably don't operate here. When Commerce insurance canceled my house insurance they did offer a number to call to get insurance from some other Co. but that CO. now does not cover house with ATV's either. boonman
What I meant was that on your insurance record, if you crashed your '74 mint condition AMC pacer, or you crashed your beemer, it would show up the same on your record. Accident over $1,000. That's all it says. So, the company can't distinguish between you getting a check (or the bank getting the check for the remainder of the financing) for $1200 or the check going out for $24,000. That's what I'm sayin'. They don't care. As long as it is over $1,000, you're screwed. Insurance is just looking for reasons to cancel you. Just like dealers are looking for reasons to void your warranty. It is bull shit what these companies do in the eyes of $$$$. Pisses me off. Insurance is the largest legal pyramid scheme in the country today. I don't how the government lets the shit go..... it sickens me....
Ducman
It's all because of the GDMFCSucking trial layers and tort laws along with sue happy A-holes that take advantage of the system. This shits got to stop! Its the same reason why they quit making the quadzilla and haven't ever made a new banshee = liability
patrolman808
I guess I'm lucky, because my insurance let me keep my truck on my parents insurance even though I've moved out and bought a house. My truck insurance is 1000 a year and insurance on my '69 firebird is only 300 a year. My house insurance is 700 a year. I just dropped insurance on my 'shee b/c I paid the loan off and don't absolutely have to have it. I've heard about being denied/dropped for Pitbulls, and I'm sure as hell not gonna tell my insurance company that I have 2 of them, even thought they'd only lick you to death.. MILO
i surely wouldn't want to be without health insurance, or homeowners, or auto. but what is insurance? it is a "what if" scam. well what if "what if" never happens, and you never have to file a claim for anything? i firmly believe that i should be reaping the benefits from having good fortune, rather than some asshole insurance agent living the highlife from my money that i've paid to protect myself in the case of an accident or what have you. i understand that a lot of claims involve outrageous $$ payoffs, and your individual input wouldn't cover a lot of mishaps. but c'mon man, a little kickback would be nice, rather than increasing my payments . obviosly they're taking a hell of a lot more in than they're paying out. i've never heard of a poor insurance agent, or an insurance company filing for bankruptcy.
