StreetRacer4Eva99
Well i'm new to the forum and within a month hopefully i'll be joining most of you in being a proud owner of a shee. I would like to know what mods should be my first and money is not really an issue. Also i would like to know of any trouble shooting issues that i might encounter or any problems i should look out for.I woud appreciate any info so please be open about it. Thanks
Ultimateduner
I would buy a good set of aftermarket pipes and an airfilter.
nater006
Pipes and an intake (or just a K&N). You can drop the airbox lid and get some good airflow. If those don't break yer wallet... consider some of the minor stuff like a stainless steel water pump impeller cause the stocker will probably break eventually. brugal
The first thing you should do is buy a CLYMER service, repair ,maintenance book and learn about your quad.

Don't get a "Jet kit". Go to the dealer or CarbParts.com and order the necessary jets. You'll save some money and don't get parts you don't need. LegendSS28
Don't bother wasting your time or money on a boost bottle. They don't do anything
StreetRacer4Eva99
Yea but when i continue modding my shee i will have to change the jets more often and i don't want to be ordering them everytime i put something else on. Also what reeds do u recommend?
bignasty1
i wouldnt go with the t-6. from what i hear they dont to all to well with porting. and i would really recomend either paul turner mid pipes they are the best pipe for "all around riding " i have ever rode. other than that ur doin good. richybanshee
This is what I would do: 1. forget about the boost bottle 2. Toomey TR6 chrome pipe kit (or the set of pipes, tubes and silencers If you want to make the carb tuning yourself. You will need to buy the K&N filter for better performance) 3. timming plate advance 3 to 4 degrees 4. VForce reed cages 5. aftermarket head with 19cc or 20cc domes if you ride at sea level or 1000 feet on premiun gas ( Pro-design or any other brand) 6. set of good tires to put all that new power to the ground My guess is that with this mods you can be like in the 45 to 50 hp A stock banshee has like 32 to 34hp aprox. If you need more power, consider porting. I reed in Dirt Wheels mag an article on a Mission Yamaha's banshee it had T5's, VForce reeds, Head moded by them for 150 psi and their porting work, running with VP fuel and made 59hp to the rear wheels. Everything else was stock.
