SICK BOY
It would make your bike top out at about 60mph with 20" tires.
sredish
It would make your bike top out at about 60mph with 20" tires. and you'd be wearing yourself out with the shifting.
rebelbanshee2
it would rev out waaayyy too fast and all you would to is spin. In my opinion lowering the gearing isnt the best want to get more low end. Bumping up the compression will help some, but the best most proven way to get lowend out of a banshee is to use that lever on the left side of the bars
locogato11283
its gonna depend on what kind of riding you do. if all you do is ride trails, then there is no need to be high geared. if you gear lower for the trails i feel you have more range of gears to use. i like having 1 thru 4th to climb hills if i need. if you are riding dunes i doubt you will like it much. its gonna depend on your riding. Blue Duece
how good would a 13 front and 46 rear make to bottom end. will this mess up anything being that its such a dramitic changed right now i am at 14 front and 44 rear. holla back. thats so low it seems useless......your bike has to float through all its gears, a 14/44, would feel close to a 13/41....gearing it that low doesnt make more bottom, bottom comes from compression and horsepower, if i put my 17 up front against your 13 i would just walk past you like your standing still, youd climb a hill in fourth and id be in second acellerating and your bike would stop pulling at about 9000 rpms, whereas mine would be pulling so hard it would break my arms, by floating i mean it stops pulling, and geared that low your sacrificeing all your traction even in sand......if you took a ten speed bicycle and put the front sprocket on its smallest and the back on its tallest, and then made the front spocket even smaller all youd really be doing is pedeling your ass off and going nowhere......try climbing a hill on your shee with a 12 up front then try it with a 15, come back and post what the diff is..... chipdog
so i gues the way to take this is go big up front and small down back and then (i will rip my arms off climbing hills). thanks for the input i will now gear back up and try to climb the hill again
Blue Duece
how good would a 13 front and 46 rear make to bottom end. thats just low gearing that doesnt mean it will hook, why not just gear it so it can accellarate....you wouldnt think geared that low you stop spinning till fourth trying to climb....you be better off letting a 15 stretch your gears a little and get some torque to the ground
Nighty
I have a one piece chain 104 links. I was just wondering howmuch you can adjust the carrier.

BansheeBrian
What if you dont have the HP to pull the high gearing? A 15 tooth spocket makes me a little boggy on 3rd gear climbs. If I let off the gas for a little bit I'm in the middle of a steep hill without powerband. That sucks. Most of my hillclimbs have only 40ft for you decide what speed and gear you want to use to get up. I like the 13 tooth sprocket in the front. sredish
To each is his own with the gearing. The ONLY way to tell what your machine can do and how you like it set up is by trial and error. One person may like the gearing to be low for whatever reason and the next may like the gearing super high. Just try it out and see how you like it, if you don't like it go to something else. As cheap as sprockets are (for the cheap steel ones, all I use) it's an inexpensive trial and one of the biggest things you can change.
