McSkinner Posted March 8, 2004 Report Share Posted March 8, 2004 So I recently went with a pro flow intake plate and removed the air box lid. Since then, the intake sounds kinda "throaty", kinda like the airbox plastic is vibrating. Anyway, I'v got some sheet aluminum and am thinking about bending up a custom box. fixitrod Posted March 9, 2004 Report Share Posted March 9, 2004 The filter on the um box is for a 250r. The 250r filter is bigger. It may pull more air, but the box design sucks ass. I have one. They don't have anyway to mount the front of the box. It mounts in the rear and the boots are suppose to hold the front of the box. It doesn't work. I fought the boots popping off. McSkinner Posted March 9, 2004 Author Report Share Posted March 9, 2004 well I definitely wouldn't pay over a hundred bucks for one of those UM boxes, but if I can bend up my own box from a sheet of aluminum, AND, it will improve the sound of my shee, I might consider it. Fixitrod, did you notice a difference in sound with that new box? I now have no lid on my stock box and I can definitely hear the plastic vibrate when it sucks air. I've read some of your past posts and have noticed that when you have an answer for someone, you act like your the smartest guy on the forum, and when you don't have an answer, you still feel the need to be heard, and so you pick on people. That shit was played out in 8th grade man. It's kind of sad. Hey by the way, how's your job at the airport going?
