raggedraider
hey this might sound like a bad question but.... can we re use head gaskets ( stock motor, sprayed with copper gasket spray, not damaged ) the reason i ask is riva yamaha ( jet skii performance, dealer) suggests that with their aftermarket performance heads you should re use the stock metal gasket after spraying with the copper spray ive done this and it works with jet skiis this would be extremely useful in reading piston wash ( or in my case useful in reading what happens to your cyls/rings when your air filter cracks and your kick start gets real light )
frocashmoney24
i wouldent, everytime you torque the head down its in a new design so i'd recoat it or get a new gasket
vmaxup
copper coat works great. Ive done it before on my shee and jet skis. No big deal. As long as you dont bend it taking it off. I would not reuse it after you use copper coat once.
locogato11283
most everyone you will talk to says not to reuse them. i have had my head off my cr500 banshee severeal times and each time reused the head gasket. ive never once had a problem. i think its gonna depend on how bad of shape its in. mine has never looked bad, so i just reuse it. it doesnt suck any antifreeze so i guess ill just keep using it.
