FoxBansheeRacing Posted March 8, 2004 Report Posted March 8, 2004 With my mods what size carbs would you suggest for mx, low to mid power. Check sig for mods and porting is stage 3. Quote
FoxBansheeRacing Posted March 8, 2004 Author Report Posted March 8, 2004 Reason I'm asking is because I'm starting to think my 32's are going to be too big. Quote
sredish Posted March 8, 2004 Report Posted March 8, 2004 You got to start planning a little. Seems like your spinning wheels and coming back full circle. Didn't you just sell a single carb kit? That would be the best setup for MX. A 35mm single carb setup with a midrange set of pipes is ideal for MX and woods. If you have a lot of porting, I'd step up to a 39mm. That's what I'm getting ready for. Can't wait. If I remember right, you have some Fatties, that and the single carb kit is SWEEETT! For dual carbs, the 30s are ideal in my opinion, unless your dragging or 100% dunes. 32s aren't too bad depending on the amount of porting you have. You should be alright with your stage 3. Quote
FoxBansheeRacing Posted March 8, 2004 Author Report Posted March 8, 2004 "Stage 3 means pretty extensive to me. If you have pretty extensive port work, then the smallest I'd go on duals is 30mm. I'd say more like 34mm for pretty extensive port work. For mild/moderate portwork maybe 30's is about right. I think it also depends on personal taste quite a bit. From 30mm to 34mm, I doubt you could go wrong. Also, I don't remember the portwork, I probably wouldn't have recommend a single 35mm if I knew there was portwork. I'd run a single 35 with very mild porting, but thats it. Any more, and its back to duals." That is from the thread I posted a few weeks ago asking about whether I should stick with the 35 or go back to duals, and that was your response. In a later post you said 32mm would be perfect for my bike. I am sorry it sounds like I'm just going in circles but I have just been taking your advice. I may end up going back to the 2 into 1 setup.. Quote
H300F Posted March 8, 2004 Report Posted March 8, 2004 the easiest thing to do is put them on and try them Quote
