Made P My Mind

Recommended Posts

I just did my taxes, Turbo Tax rocks, and i'm getting a huge return!! I can't spend it all on the shee but I will be able to get a new front sus setup. I have settled on Quicksand and Elka :P

They won't be top of the line Elka's but they will be new & have piggybacks. Not sure if I will get the A arms in chrome but I think i should go with .120 walls even though I just like dunes, maybe sometimes I go on trails. After that I think I'll get a TORS removal kit and some small bling bling stuff (front bumper I think) and I'll be good for a little while.

I did all my research for my decision right here. Thank You all my scientists.

That was my next question, rear end. whatcha gona do with that. I gave quicksand a call the other day and i think that is what I am going to go with. I cant afford elkas or any of those high end shocks. Im gonna go with works, good shocks great price

ranshee, You got it!! I checked out the Quicksand swingarms and they look tight, and an awesome price. $550 for any swingarm -1 to +6, add 120 for chrome. Who knows what I'll do with a rear shock but I will get a new axle too. But it just goes on and on and on, you know!

You know you could still get Elka fronts without rezzies and then add the rezzies later on. That might put them in the ballpark of some nice Works with rezzies price. I thought about doing that too.

I think with my rear Im just gonna have it revalved by works and put heavier duty spring on it do to me being 240 pounds. I dont know how many times I have slammed that rear shock all the way down and thought I have broken my back. What are you going to do with that axel, +2

Ask Gary about the durability of the heim joints.... I have my doughts about them. They are completly exposed. I just can't see them being a durable piece. The a-arms he builds look great. Ricky Stator uses traditional type joints that you can grease.

I know, but I think it was his website where i read that the heim's take like 17,000 lbs. of pressure force as apposed to 2500 lbs. for ball joints. So you know what he'll say. I think that's where i read that, or not. But anyway he has this proprietory one piece spindle stud that he claims is the sheeeit.

the way he designed this piece is super sweet man, on a regular heim the bolts tend to loosen up. the way it bolts up pretty much keeps it tight and strong as all hell. its kinda hard to explain unless you see it but it kicks ass. just my opinion.

damm straight rod, i can go out in my truck and blow 600 bucks in heims in just a short race, as with anything submitted to sand and dirt will wear it out faster. im wondering if theres any way to make a heim boot of some sort to make it last longer ??? any ideas
