Minkia38
I am currently looking for a trailer for my quads! I am wondering what you guys think the best setup is.... Sure an enclosed trailed with a v nose would be nice, but too damn expensive for me right now. I'm thinking about one that will hold 4-5 quads, not enclosed, possiblt a side ramp to ride up or ride off. what do you guys have? any pictures? whats the best trailer setup you have seen? dnhyoung
I've got a 16' flat bed trailer that can easily hold 4 quads. It came with ramps that can be used to load a car, but I went and added a light weight rear ramp that is made of expanded metal for loading quads then added a shit load of tie downs that are recessed in the deck to secure the quads. I also found an angled tool box that matches the front end for storing tools, gear and whatever else I don't want to disappear. I also looked at enclosed trailers but the flat bed was a better decision because I can use to haul hay, stuff to the dump, and a car if necessary..... .
Look for one that has a toolbox in the front/nose on it that will deflect air and such up away from the quads. I've had many a time driving quads up to a riding area and they would be covered with road salt/ dirt/ grime to the point that you almost dont want to ride them. Took my buddies with the front deflector on it and the quads were 90% cleaner when we got to our riding area. If you dont get one with siderails you can just use a regular ramp, 2x6's to load them on sideways easily.
brock_fuzzy_69
i was going to go look at a 16 foot long 4 place snowmobile trailer with the V shaped nose on it should be good to haul 4 assuming that it is wide enough possibly evan 5 i figured i might as well have a peek at it since its my brother in laws and he only wants 400 for it

sredish
I'm getting ready to start building on a trailer solely for my atvs. I'm going to build it 7' wide x 15' long. It will fit 3 quads sideways plus a fullsize truck box in front for tools, oil, etc. No sides, there will be a set of ramps stored underneath to ride on from the side or back. The floor and front will be aluminum diamond plate. I'll be making the front of the trailer 2.5' high to block mud and gravel from beating on the atvs. I may build a cover over the top to carry coolers, and other crap. I have about 3 bills budgeted to build it and it shouldn't really be anymore than that, not including a top. Already have the truck box, and the metal only cost $120.00 Oh, and i already have the quads, thankfully. I was going to have it ready by the 19th, but I don't think so anymore. Ducman
I saw a trailer at Cost Co. the other day that was really nice that would be a perfect size to haul 2 quads for $650.

I spent about $125 on the square tubing. I'll have another $50 or $60 in aluminum. The hubs are around $50. The hitch and tires will be about $75. I have the pipe left over from some fencing and I have the truckbox I took out of my work truck. I didn't allow for the paint or wire for the mig in that though. That will probably be "rerouted" through the ranch, that is if Martha Stewarts DA isn't watching me.
locogato11283
how big of a trailer?? what are you using the aluminum for?? i guess when i built my trailer i used 3/16" steel for everything. im sure that made it a lot more expensive. i use mine for hauling my mower and shit so it goes thru a lot of abuse. I'm using 11 ga. square tubing for the entire frame and everything, much cheaper than 3/16". I'm riveting the aluminum onto the steel tubing, then mounting the truckbox on the front of the trailer.
